American Atheists Statement About Charleston Shooting

Cranford, NJ—The staff of American Atheists is shocked and horrified by the murder of nine members of the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

“This is a sickening act of violence. I can’t even begin to express my sorrow and support for members of the Charleston community,” said American Atheists President David Silverman. “This attack shakes our nation to the core. Despite our differences, I stand in solidarity with Emanuel AME Church.”
