American Atheists names Greg Lammers as National Affiliate Director

Cranford, NJ—Greg Lammers, who has served as American Atheists’ Missouri State Director until now, will step up to the role of National Affiliate Director overseeing approximately 120 affiliated groups nationwide.

“I am truly excited by his acceptance of this position,” said President David Silverman. “Greg Lammers is one of the most enthusiastic atheist activists I have the pleasure of knowing. Just last month at our 50th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Convention in Austin, we gave him an Appreciation Award for all of his tireless work as Missouri State Director, working with our seven affiliate and partner groups there. When we decided to appoint a new Affiliate Director, he was at the top of our list and we’re very happy to have him. This is a great step for American Atheists.”

“I’m excited to take on this new role with American Atheists. I look forward to working with all of the groups who honor us with their affiliation and friendship,” said Lammers. “This is an exhilarating time for atheists, atheist groups, and American Atheists, and we’re just getting started.”

The role of the National Affiliate Director is to coordinate activism, social activities, educational events, and more among American Atheists affiliated groups, encourage cooperation and interaction with local campus atheist groups, and expand the affiliate by assisting new local groups and encouraging existing local groups to affiliate.

Lammers begins his new position this week.
