American Atheists announced today that Dave Muscato of Columbia, Missouri, will be the new Public Relations Director. Muscato, previously the Kansas/Missouri Volunteer Network Coordinator for the Secular Student Alliance, will relocate from Missouri to our national headquarters in Cranford, NJ.
“We’re very excited to bring Mr. Muscato on board,” said David Silverman, President of American Atheists. “He brings great ideas and strong activism to our organization.”
“I’m very happy for the opportunity to work for American Atheists,” Muscato said. “This has long been a dream of mine. This organization does very admirable work in representing the interests of atheists in America, in working toward separation of church & state, and in providing resources for atheists in our country.”
One of Muscato’s first duties will be promoting American Atheists’ 50th Anniversary Annual Convention. The Convention will take place from March 28-31 in Austin, TX. Speakers include former Congressman Pete Stark, authors A.C. Grayling and Katherine Stewart, popular debater Matt Dillahunty, former pastors-turned-atheists Teresa MacBain and Jerry DeWitt, American Atheists President David Silverman, and many others.
