2013 National Convention

Austin, TX

American Atheists 50th Anniversary Convention featured a number of exciting entertainers.

The Friday Night Comedy Event featured performances by Blair Scott and Keith Lowell Jensen as well as a musical performance by special guest Greydon Square

On Saturday, following our traditional costume dinner ($55 were and guests were encouraged to come as their favorite atheist, god, other mythological creature, or whatever), we featuredTombstone Da Deadman, who recently performed at the Reason Rally in Washington DC and a full concert by Quiet Company, an Austin-based rock band with edgy, atheist friendly songs. This musical event was FREE to all convention attendees.

Following the costume dinner and concert, Black Nonbelievers, Inc. sponsored Freethought Jam ($20 for adults, $10 for students) and we had our traditional (unofficial) Pub Crawl in the vibrant streets of downtown Austin.

Other notable features of the American Atheists 50th Anniversary Celebration and Convention included an atheist art show, benefiting charity and the artists themselves, video clips from the early days of American Atheists, and a live auction which included first editions of notable atheist and freethought books, art owned by the O'Hair family, and other special items.
