This conference was not really for the talkers but for the doers, the boots-on-the-ground folks, the folks interested in translating theory into praxis.
From limiting access to reproductive health care to rolling back protections for LGBTQ folks, we’re seeing the fruits of a coordinated, decades-long, and nationwide effort to integrate church and state.
The ongoing exposure and response to Project Blitz reminds us that it’s possible to stand up to and prevail against secretive, formidable antidemocratic movements and measures, and that our democratic institutions are more resilient than they may sometimes seem.
We know what we’ve got to do. It won’t be easy, but here’s why I’m still optimistic for 2025.
