Cristina Rad Added as Convention Speaker!

American Atheists announced today the addition of Cristina Rad a.k.a. ZOMGitsCriss, as a speaker for the 2013 American Atheists National Convention.
Ms. Rad is a prolific Romanian atheist vlogger. Her work is hosted on YouTube andFreethought Blogs and currently has over 85,000 subscribers.

Ms. Rad’s videos mainly consist of discussions of atheism and critiques of creationism, notably in her video series “How to Be a Good Creationist” Rad gained attention for her response to Ray Comfort’s version of Darwin’s Origin of Species. On September 19, 2009, Rad posted a video on YouTube titled “Origin of Stupidity” that received over a million views, including, apparently, one by Comfort himself.

David Silverman, President of American Atheists stated, “Cristina’s eloquence and wit are world famous, thanks to her YouTube channel and last year’s speech at the Reason Rally.  I’ve been a fan of hers for years and am thrilled to be able to bring her to Austin!”

The 2013 Convention will host 1,500 atheists at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas March 28-31, 2013, where Madalyn Murray O’Hair founded the organization 50 years ago.
