Promoting Understanding

Expert Analysis

Religious freedom issues are complex, but the threats to our rights are crystal clear. We make it easier to understand what’s at stake.

The case for equality has to be made in courtrooms, legislative chambers, and newsrooms — and that requires more than just passion. It takes evidence.

We publish rigorous legal scholarship, issue briefs, and policy analysis that fill genuine gaps in the field, collaborate with academics to strengthen the research base, and work with journalists to ensure our findings shape public understanding.

We don’t just produce knowledge. We put it to work.

Filling Gaps in Understanding

The legal and policy landscape around religious equality is still deeply under-analyzed. We’re changing that.

We publish issue briefs, white papers, and scholarly resources that highlight the issues our community faces. We ensure that advocates, legislators, courts, and the media have the information they need to better understand the most pressing policy debates of our time.

Research Built on Relationships

We work alongside legal scholars, sociologists, historians, and political scientists to produce research that is empirically grounded and practically useful. We collaborate with leading academics on data collection, contributing to their work — and inviting them to contribute to ours.

We know that the best analysis happens when advocates and scholars are actually talking to each other.

Driving the Conversation

Data without an audience doesn’t move the needle. We build relationships with journalists, pitch stories grounded in our research, and equip members of the press with the tools they need to cover religious equality issues and atheists accurately and fairly.

We make sure our work is shaping story, not just a footnote.
