American Atheists Announces Reorganization

Cranford—American Atheists today announced a reorganization to focus its efforts on legal and public policy matters. The reorganization includes an emphasis towards voter engagement, political action, and legal advocacy.

Some staff positions were eliminated to accommodate this change in direction.

As of June 1, Nick Fish will become the National Program Director overseeing projects such as AtheistVoter and AtheistTV.

To better meet the needs of a rapidly increasing population of atheists, the organization will be opening an office in Washington, D.C., in summer 2015 to be headed by the new National Legal and Public Policy Director Amanda Knief.

American Atheists looks forward to increasing the role of atheists in public affairs, including the electoral process.
