Chances are you are not alone where you live!

Even if you are in a small town that seems overwhelmingly religious - there are likely a few other atheists in your town - all thinking the exact same thing, "I am alone." You will never know if you are alone until you come out the closet!

Then again... there may already be a thriving atheist community in your neck of the woods. American Atheists maintains a Group Database that contains a list of all the groups that we are aware of in the United States (including Puerto Rico).

We need your help to maintain the database. Make sure that your group is listed! If you know of a group that we are missing, a group that has disbanded, or a group that has changed their URL, please let us know. Just download the "GroupDatabase.xls" file attached below (formatted with Office '93 to increase compatibility for Office and OpenOffice users).
