David Tamayo, Director, Hispanic American Freethinkers

Hispanics are the fastest growing minority group in the U.S. (16% growth according to the last census) and, unfortunately, it also happens to be one the most superstitious and religious. For example, although the Catholic Church in the U.S. lost the most members in the past couple of years through conversions to other religions, its number stayed the same because it also received the most new members of any church – mostly Hispanic immigrants. The future of America is closely linked to the young Hispanics of today, especially considering that Hispanics already outnumber African-Americans in the U.S.
