David Silverman on the David Pakman Show: Bill'O is a Fictional Character
American Atheists President David Silverman was a guest on the David Pakman show via Skype. David discussed why he did not address Bill'O directly about the tides or the number of atheists and how he realized during the on-screen interview that he was talking to a fictional character.

You really have to wonder who else is "fictional". I'm convinced the morning crew is just that blissfully stupid, but Hannity might be a similar case to Bill O'. Glenn Beck, however, I can't figure out if he's the greatest con man in history or the richest mentally dangerous person in history.
It's all just a game with Fox News, isn't it? They certainly have a religious fanbase they don't want to offend or lose, however I see in recent years that Fox has been attempting to change the fanbase from religious dogmatism over to the American Dream, which is a very good move, albeit still a somewhat slow transition process.
Dave, interesting observation about O'Reily dumbing himself down for your televised interview. I think you hit the nail on the head about the procedure at Fox News. John Stewart also called Gretchen Carlson out about doing the same thing (http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-december-8-2009/gretchen-carlson-d...). I think Fox News is employing the same strategy as Republican politicians. In order to get elected (or get high ratings) they must act religious and ignorant. Unfortunately, the ignorant segment of the population is actually capable of voting and turning on the T.V.
Keep up the great interviews. By the way, you should have asked Dave Pakman if he has any evidence for his belief in a "higher power" since there is no evidence for his belief, he either believes it on faith, or he is an atheist.
A person can be brilliant, talented and likable, but if they lack a sense of ethics, they often end up a mobilizing force for ignorance, all for the sake of selfish ends. I wonder if millionaires like the televangelists and Bill O'Reily sit in their mansions troubled by the knowledge (which they certainly have) that their lives have been efficiently devoted to gathering wealth/power for themselves at the expense of society and truth - that their net contribution to the world is similar to that of a bank robber or con man.
.
Perhaps they don't feel that guilt, like a sociopath. I wonder if 10 minutes with O'Reily makes a person feel like they've interviewed Hannibal Lector.
David, you totally rocked and exposed Bill O as an atheist.
