BREAKING NEWS
The pope in 1980 allowed a priest in his diocese to remain in the clergy after this priest forced a 11 yr old boy to perform oral sex German newpapers report.
This priest was allowed to remain in the clergy after more sex abuse in 1986.
Now there is a dispute about what the pope meant when he was in charge of church discipline and he sent out a letter. This letter to bishops said to keep abuse charges secret. His supporters say this refers to internal church trials but others say they read it as don’t go to police.
I wonder how this will all play out. These guys are all about money, power don’t see them going down without a fight.

You decide.
I would like to see a reaction to the incredibly dumb ruling by the Appeals court allowing “In God” to continue on currency and in the Pledge. Haven’t seen much – maybe don’t know where to look.
Other points –
1. I’m against honorifics. A “Reverend” is to be “revered,” which is to look upon with “awe, deference, devotion”? not by me – it’s Mr. or Ms., and no “Fathers,” ever.
2. The Secular Coalition of America can go in the back door to meet with an Obama underling in the back closet of the White House, but that does not mean that I want Atheists to have to give an assent to this farce. Obama is a flagrant religious conservative, as witnessed by his odious remarks at the “Prayer Breakfast,” his full embrace of “faith-based” budgeting, and faith-based “God Bless” and other ridiculous bellicosity. Atheism must stand on principle – no associations with antagonistic god-crazed politicians. Take the man at his word – he’s as bad as Bush.
Fox News is fair and balanced.
Cigarettes do not cause cancer.
Barry Bonds never heard of steroids.
Corporations are persons.
And “under God” does not endorse religion.
This reminds me of an anti-drunk-driving public ad campaigns that some police departments have put out, featuring the phrase “Drink, drive, go to jail.”
When I first saw that phrase advertised here in Austin, I laughed. Drunk driving isn’t good, but the very idea that the police catch ALL drunk drivers is preposterous. That’s what the phrase seemed to claim.
The reality is that for every low-level crime that law enforcement discovers, and follows up with an arrest on, probably a thousand similar crimes take place, without any arrests.
If even the Pope talks about child sex abuse in the Catholic Chuch, imagine how much is really going on. Remember that they’ve already proven that they’re engaged in covering up these incidents when they find them.
Just doing the math on this ought to inspire law enforcement around the world to do sting operations, or whatever it takes to shut down the system of abuse that exists still.
It’s amazing how the Department of Justice used such zeal when going after the KKK, the Hell’s Angels, and the Branch Davidians. But then those groups were and still are, small potatoes.
Plus I believe that like the Freemasons, many law enforcement bodies around the world are thoroughly infiltrated by Catholics. It’s hard to even just point the finger at the guilty parties, when they’re standing right next to you, wearing the same uniform as you, so to speak.
But cancer is cancer.
The convention is a chance for AA leaders to condemn the sociopaths who control this country. We keep being told the recession is over maybe on wall street,k street the rest of the country is going down the tubes.Say what you will but churchs the communists have a [social justice] belief system that gives an individual hope, something to focus on and live for.Alot of people are hurting because of this economy, with the media watching AA should acknowledge that pain.Or risk being seen as elitist and out of touch.
