Christians Don’t Need Us to Make Them Look Foolish

Thanks to Youtube and their own stupid selves, we can now watch as our elected leaders grovel to the invisible magic man in the sky… to stop healthcare reform. We are not worthy, and we deserve his wrath, but please intervene in the healthcare debate, oh God, and watch as we wabble and yammer on about how wonderful you are and how crappy we humans are.

Really, America. Do we need these people in Congress? Really?

if these fanatics were born in Saudi or Jordan….they’d be flying planes into our buildings

  2. avatar reason says:

The fact they are hypocrites doesn’t change the fact these healthcare bills will raise prices for policyholders, decrease quality of care and not provide universal coverage.

      …they are hypocrites…

How does praying make them “hypocrites?”

They are praying as part of a photo op if that doesn’t set off an alarm bell what does.I have no objection to someone praying for wisdom, etc but religion should be in your heart not on your sleeve.

But that still doesn’t make them “hypocrites.” (Does the question mark on your keyboard not function?)

I’d really like to know why you think they’re “hypocrites.”

I have no objection to someone praying for wisdom, etc

Really? Could you elaborate a little more on that?

religion should be in your heart not on your sleeve.

Why? Does that mean when you feel strongly about something that you should keep it entirely to yourself?

        St. Matthew, Chapter 6

Verse 5: And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Verse 6: But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

If I remember correctly, the words in red in the KJV of the bible are the words of Jesus himself. In other words jcc, Jesus himself says they are hypocrites.

      • avatar jcc says:

Excellent point!–but they sure didn’t seem like they were piously praying just so they could be seen praying–which is what Jesus was talking about. Rep. Bachmann sounded pretty genuine and sincere in her supplications to me. Besides, if corporate prayer was verboten, then why did the Disciples (and the young church) continue to do it after He ascended? The book of Acts is full of instances of it.

      • Ooh, nice – more contradictions. Way to go, Ren.

Why do i think they are hypocrites? Gee maybe it is the say one thing do another routine.Tell me what has kissing up to politicans done for conservative christians? gays are still having sex, babies are still being aborted.Looks to me christians are getting about the same return value as we atheists ‘ZERO’.
So have a nice christmas and reconcile yourself to the fact that we are ruled by frauds hellbent on turning us into serfs.

Thank you very much and I hope you have a merry Christmas as well.

Why do i think they are hypocrites? Gee maybe it is the say one thing do another routine.

But I was referring specifically to those in the video at the top of this thread. Can you honestly say that they’re not walking the walk that they’re talking about?

what has kissing up to politicans done for conservative christians?

Like I said, these particular Conservative politicians are fighting for Conservative Christian values.

        gays are still having sex

“Gays having sex” isn’t the political issue—homosexual marriage is.

        …babies are still being aborted.

Yes, but are these politicians turning a blind eye to it?

Looks to me christians are getting about the same return value as we atheists ‘ZERO’.

Not necessarily; the Republican majority Congress was far more responsive to the will of the people than the current bunch is.

        So have a nice christmas

Thank you again—and the same to you, again.

reconcile yourself to the fact that we are ruled by frauds hellbent on turning us into serfs.

Oh I’ve been reconciled to that about liberals in government from the time I could understand what this country was founded on—but I’ll never stop fighting them. If my taxes are used to fund abortion, I’ll risk going to jail before I allow another hard-earned cent of mine to get in this government’s hands.

please dont forget that the con men brokers in this arrangement are the insurance companies…..and they make the doles to health care providers and drug companies……

the ultimate fix to health care cost is campaign finance reform and fucking term limits……these career politicians are leaving tenure very wealthy….wft

  4. avatar Mack says:

    Pathetic groveling.

  5. avatar karen says:

It’s disturbing to know that the pathetic groveling (couldn’t put it better, Mack) and self-abasement demonstrated in this video are actually found admirable by the majority of our citizens. Equally disturbing that these “leaders” couldn’t do anything without the comfort of their imaginary friend. Just sad.

  6. avatar dw says:

Just as I would not get on a plane where the pilot prays before taking off, I do not want a government run by such incompetents. If these government officials do not have the talent or wherewithal to run government without beseeching the help of a non-existent entity, they have no place in government.

  7. avatar quantum_flux says:

First off, we have a bunch of retarded monkeys in congress. Second off, you can’t trust ANY politicians, it doesn’t matter how smart or retarded they are, you can’t trust any of them because they’re all pathological liars. Third, if you have national healthcare then that is just more robbery that you are allowing (throwing politicians and pharmaceutical lobbyists into the criminal mix) on top of the insurance companies.

Are you kidding me? This is rediculous!!!!
