I provided 2 (T-W-O) links which I found on my first and only search. Those links lead to many more, and yes, I read some of the links you provided. I was not interested in trying to prove, disprove, endorse or condemn anyone in this matter when I posted before. I read the link in your first response and decided to see what was going on, as I hadn’t heard about this yet. What I found was, as usual, there is more than one side to a story. Why don’t we wait till the investigation is over and see what chips fall to the floor, and where?

First, that was a remark from Phil Jones to Mann (who is not my boy). Are you responsible for what others say to you?
Second, in the link I provided about Mann, in which he explains the context of some of the mined quotes, you can find his (to me, reasonable) views on skeptical publications and the somewhat notorious incident involving a questionable publication in a peer-reviewed mag. He doesn’t address the specific quote by Jones in that link, but again, that is for Jones to explain, not Mann.

Has he brought the hijacked emails up before? I haven’t been reading here much lately-too busy- and when I have, it’s been skimming. Also have not been too aware of the news-again, too much else going on- so I didn’t know about the story. I was thinking I just offered another side of it in my first post, but after re-reading, I see that I did commit smartassery in response to the tone of jcc’s initial post and the fact that it was OT, which I neglected to mention.

After, on so many occasions, reading JaCCoff’s psuedo scientific explanations of biblical events, such as the flood, suddenly, I find myself in total agreement. I have stated it here, and other freethinker blogs:
1) No scientific evidence exists to prove that carbon dioxide has any different insulating properties that any other naturally occurring gas in our atmosphere.
2) Science does exist that prove that any greenhouse effect is actually caused by water vapor.
3) Science proves that warm and cold cycles have always been part of earth’s climatic cycles, even in historic times.
4) Data proves that the Earth has been in a decade long cooling cycle.
5) The presence of petroleum oil and natural gas in the Arctic Circle prove it was once a tropical swamp.
6) Al Gore is an asshole, assuming that if two things are occurring at the same time, they must be connected. Bad science.
And I could go on, and I do not wish to claim that as a general trend, the earth is not getting warmer, but I would put the idea to anyone who is not a moron, that if it weren’t, we would still be living in the “Ice Age” when glaciers miles deep were carving out the Hudson River Basin and the New York harbors. If any idiot thinks they can manipulate the cycle by bankrupting the coal industry, all they are doing is shitstomping America’s last best chance at energy independance. This based on an unsubstantiated radical unproven theory about cause and result. INSANE!!!!!!!!
These psuedo scientists have an agenda of their own, to create a sythetic demand for their unique expertise. To pretend to become the saviors of the planet, when all they are is a bunch of lying turds trying to get famous.
