The Supreme Court is expected to take the Mojave Case this term. As reported by AP:
Mojave cross: For most of the past 75 years, a cross on public land in a remote part of the Mojave National Preserve has stood as a memorial to World War I soldiers. The court takes up a long-running legal fight over whether the cross, which Congress declared a national memorial, violates First Amendment religious protections despite Congress’ decision to transfer the land to private ownership.
So the question is whether a public entity like a school or a town can sell a 1×1 piece of land to a church, who can then erect a huge cross on this “private” land. We’ve seen it before in our case in San Francisco at Mt. Soledad. This is a very obvious way of usurping the Equal Access Law. We hope the SCOTUS votes correctly on this one!

You know they won’t.
Yesterday 6 of the justices attended mass together. I think we already know how the honorable Justice Scalia will vote. It’s Jeebus versus the Constitution and I don’t have a good feeling about it.

Honor our veterans by obeying and defending the constitution.A veterans gravestone in the shape of a cross or with a cross engraving is proper for our christian veterans but it is out of line to put up a cross for everyone.
If it’s still on public land, I say hold some Atheist meetings right there at the base of that cross, or as close as we can get to it. Invite the media, and show the world how we can get that close to their precious cross with our meeting and free speech against it – because it’s on public land.
Just like at Mount Davidson, I would LOVE to have given a speech right there against that monstrosity. Then I’d invite Christians to absorb video of that speech, as a reminder of whose land they want to control.
I wouldn’t even throw eggs on those crosses. Really. I’m sure lots of birds have pooped on them both already. We could hold a celebration right there in honor of all of those helpful birds!

“We hope the SCOTUS votes correctly on this one!”???? Hope?
You might as well pray!
Is this part of the American Atheist Hope Plan, just keep hoping for others to act on behalf of our group? Doesn’t AA have a plan for taking action rather than hoping?
And Mt Soledad is in San Diego California, not San Francisco. Did American Atheists ever help or assist Phil Paulson, Vietnam veteran and First Amendment activist, in his 17 year long fight against the religious monument on public property?
