New Youth and Family Directors

I’m very pleased to announce that Susan Harrington (Board of Directors, ID State Director) and Lori Howard (President of Idaho Atheists) have been appointed the Youth and Family Co-Directors. These activists are both educators and well experienced in Youth and Family Issues.

I will no longer be giving away the scholarships (sniff). I am very pleased to have granted the scholarships since their inception 6 years ago, but in reality, these two great activists are going to take over and take this position to the next level. Their email is yfdirector@atheists.org.

For what it’s worth, there is an effort going on in Idaho toward joining several atheist and humanist groups, under the banner “Secular Idaho”. A search is on for a perfect logo, and a debate is also on about how a branch of the unitarians fit in. Some sparks are flying, nothing serious, but, myself and other members have made it clear that we do not understand how the concept that “there is good in all religion” fits into any cohesive plan.

Congrats to the officer of Idaho Atheists. Windspeed (that’s freethinker for godspeed).

I know Lori and Susan personally, and I know they will both do a stand-up job. It was a wise choice.

With two people sharing the position of Youth and Family Director, they should be able to corrupt twice as many children with evil atheist ideas. ;)

Dave, you did really well with those scholarships. I also like the website you designed for Youth and Family. AA is a much better organization with those scholarships, imho.

Lori and Susan are both very well qualified. Good choice.

Dave you did a great job for years. Susan & Lori have big shoes to fill, but I know they can handle it.
