        What
it will not be funny when global investors decide US is no longer a good bet.the more dollars printed/spent by gov’t the less value for their investment.would you invest with someone whose actions cause your investment to decline in value.
we have a congress that votes on bills it hasn’t read a president who appoints tax cheats than rails against wall street.what does it take for you to see that light at the end of a tunnel is a train.

Protecting us?? From what?? Good intellegence?? If we didn’t torture them, we would have never gotten the bad intellegence that was used to justify the lies that got us into Desert Scam II.

If and when Holder finally gets down to business, I’ll bring the rope for the torturing traitors.

There is going to be a train wreck. It is happening right now. It has been happening for over two years. And it was predictable back in 2004. The only question now is whether the train wreck will be a 100 car pile-up or will it take out track from coast-to-coast.

When we are in a very deep recession, the fed has already lowered interests rates as far as they can, and The Paradox of Thrift has kicked in big time. In such a situation the ONLY way to prevent a downward economic death spiral is for our governmnet to spend.

If you know of a better way to avoid coast-to-coast destruction then you should publish it and collect your Noble Prize in a few years. And if you want someone to blame in the mean time you need look no further than your deregulating friends in the GOP.

i don’t quite get this. since there is no god, my baptism “certificate” and the accompanying ceremony mean nothing, have no standing, and are irrelevant. so what is there to undo? by undoing it, it would seem that you are somehow admitting that it all means something in the first place.

i would leave this one alone. it resembles a brain dead xtians thought process which we all know is not a process at all.

    • joe zamecki says:

It does mean something though. If you were ever a Christian, it should be clear. It’s a ceremony they use to seal your membership in their ideology. When we break free from that ideology, we want to break totally free.

As deeply meaningful as a baptism is to religious people, that’s how meaningful my leaving religion was to me. It was one of the most important moves of my life. I wanted to seal that up with something as meaningful to me.

If you’ve never been religious against your will, this may never make sense to you. I guess it takes a lot of misery living within a religion to want to solidify one’s exit from that religion. It also feels like a coming of age.

If that’s not enough, consider it a celebration of independence. But please remember that religion does not have a monopoly on ceremonies or celebrations or fraternity or organization in general.

where does sotomayor stand on churchstate issues that is what is really important now we already know she is a antiwhite bigot.

  5. Flan, we get that. It’s mostly to make sure the churches don’t count you as one of them. It’s also for fun.

    Why would that matter Dave?

    • joe zamecki says:

You’re asking why would it matter to us if a church counted us as members? Are you seriously asking that question? It should be obvious: We don’t like churches. Wait. That IS obvious. Helloooo?

      • DaRatBastid says:

Of course he’s that dense, joe. He’s the phreeanderthal.
Real simple, knuckle dragger: CHURCHES LIE. It’s not just the dogma they lie about, it’s the inflated numbers. they count those who wer baptised but don’t buy the bullshit.
Now, go see if you can learn how to walk upright.

  7. joe zamecki says:

I didn’t send my de-baptism certificate to my old church, but I did send them a firm letter explaining my Atheism, and asking them to remove me from all their files.

They replied that they don’t count me as a member of the RCC or their local church, but that they can’t delete records of my membership having happened. That’s the best they would do for me, and I didn’t ask to be excommunicated.

De-baptism for me was not only a lot of fun, it was also a large amount of closure for me. For those who don’t get it, you probably shouldn’t try to. It’s a perspective thing.

  8. lao tzu says:

I had an informal de-baptism this last weekend. My son stayed with my parents for about a week and when we came to pick him up he asked me in front of my dad “why don’t you believe in god?” Did I mention that my dad is a southern baptist minister? I couldn’t believe it. My eyes probably got as big as dinner plates. He knows that I don’t go to church and really don’t believe in that stuff but that was the first time it was out in the open. He was pretty cool about it though, all he said was that I have a right to believe whatever I want. I think that’s about as close as I’ll get to a de-baptism.
