Happy Brithday

On July 10th, Atheist Nexus will be 1 year old!

Isn’t it amazing what we have accomplished in such a short time? We have become the largest social networking site for nontheists, and we are now the fastest growing atheist organization in the world. This is incredible considering we have only been promoted by word of mouth.

This is a great site if you want to be phree of trolls.

And if you like chicken soup, my Mom can make you some. She’s 42 on the 11th, meaning we are now the same age.

Yeah but look at what you get for your 20 bucks…

    Hmmmm….?….errr. OK…give me a moment…

Ah yes…you get to rent a meeting room at a 5 star hotel so that the elite at AA can entertain the troops…

Kind of reminds me of Barry’s admiinistration…

Hey, did you hear that Michele was seen in Russia carrying a pocketbook valued at $6000.00? Of course the administration denied that claim, stating the the pocketbook only cost $800.00. Yes…they are definitely in touch with the common man…

It’s a great study in human nature to observe those around us who are placed in positions of authourity…it proves the statement “absolute power corrupts absolutely”…

Say Dave…when is AA going to start allowing their members a say in who runs AA?

There are three reasons why you are so obsessed with $$$ all the time (yes it’s that obvious):

      1. You don’t have any.

      2. You’re jealous of those who do.

      3. You’re ashamed of your own faith’s unbelievable GREED.

Careful pal, you’re headed down the root of all evil with your love (and envy and obsession) of money.

  5. avatar Show Me Some PROOF says:

If only atheist organizations pulled in 10% of everyone’s income like the church. Say Phree, what do you get with those donations? I guess you really can’t put a value on Jesus’ own body, although those crackers seem to be abundant.

Atheist groups are never going to pull in the kind of dough that churches do, but it’s still good to see many sites growing and expanding- and social networking like this is a big step towards hearding the cats.

    • Give it a rest. Homophobia is not specific to skin color.

      • avatar godless sodomite says:

I never said homophobia was specific to a skin colour but homophobia is much more prevelant in the black community. Thats an indisputable FACT. I wont give it a rest until I have earned my basic civil liberties over the objections of the majority of black folks, among others. I dont expect a straight man to understand.

If you dont like my postings then dont read and/or respond to them but do not try to stifle my freedom of speech in here.

      • I wont give it a rest until I have earned my basic civil liberties over the objections of the majority of black folks, among others

Given that you spew some of the most odious racist crap about black folks I’ve ever read from another atheist, well, you treat other people like shit, you’re not going to get far.
& you’re targeting an entire race, not humanity in general. Bear that in mind.

I dont expect a straight man to understand.

So – you think you’re the only 1 here who’s been singled out, a pariah, who’s had to flee in fear? Fuck you.

If you dont like my postings then dont read and/or respond to them but do not try to stifle my freedom of speech in here.

I’m not doing anything of the sort, you drama queen.

actually homophobia has nothing to do with homosexuality. It’s original meaning was fear of other people. It’s denotation has been perverted, just like “picturesque” which used to mean plain and ordinary. The ignorant keep reinventing our language.

      NeoWolfe

      • avatar Show Me Some PROOF says:

Are you now complaining about the evolution of language? It’s inevitable chief, deal with it.

Mass, force, acceleration, kinetic energy, potential energy, heat, entropy, temperature, magnetic field, electric field, current, charge, state, superposition, observable, commutation, measurement, Hamiltonian, Lagrangian, boson, fermion …

Ignorant physicists and their new words.

I rest my case. I came looking for freethinkers. Instead I found a bunch of rebellious assholes, and several nazis, but, a few free thinkers that despite the absence of intelligent conversation, found me. I know you idiots have no idea what I’m talking about, and I’m tired of explaining. I’ll just drop you a clue: the human condition. Maybe your priest or guru can explain it to you.

neo speaks of freethinkers what do you think.do you think humans can truly be freethinkers.how can we be when humans are such emotional beings and we have such a limited understanding of the workings of the brain.your thoughts please.

      • do you think humans can truly be freethinkers

        If by ‘freethinker’, you mean:
Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that beliefs should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or any other dogma. The cognitive application of freethought is known as freethinking, and practitioners of freethought are known as freethinkers.
Then yes, I do think so. Emotions will still & always be a part of our lives, but they don’t preclude the use of logic science & reason.

      • avatar what says:

        KA

Of course you took the definition of free thinker from Wikipedia. That’s OK but I find it amusing that months ago the Wikipedia definition included a phrase in that very definition that stated that free thought is independent of the influence of emotion. I recall this because I had pointed on this blog how disastrous it would be to not allow emotions to enter our logical considerations or at times override them. Shortly after my post the Wikipedia definition was altered to its present form. Apparently there is much freedom in defining free thought.

      • what:

That’s OK but I find it amusing that months ago the Wikipedia definition included a phrase in that very definition that stated that free thought is independent of the influence of emotion.

Didn’t know that. I’ve had discussions elsewhere where I was told that if I had objections to something on emotional grounds, those objections had no place in a rational discussion.

I recall this because I had pointed on this blog how disastrous it would be to not allow emotions to enter our logical considerations or at times override them.

Agreed. We’re not Vulcans. Of course, Vulcans are fictional characters. A non-emotional human isn’t necessarily an improved human. In fact, I think the word is sociopath.

Shortly after my post the Wikipedia definition was altered to its present form. Apparently there is much freedom in defining free thought.

I’ve actually edited wiki before. I looked up the Negative Proof fallacy, & somebody had inserted an example that claimed both the theist AND the atheist shared the burden of proof. I deleted that toot sweet.
Apparently there’s a LOT of freedom defining what-the-fuck-ever a lot of people feel like defining.

      • avatar neowolfe says:

freethinkers are scientists. Unfortunately, science is a work in progress. On subjects like the origin of universe, science is as much a guessing game as religion. So those freethinkers who are really honest with themselves admit: “I don’t know”. A universe that exploded into existence out of nothing, as opposed to a designer that needs to explain his own origin and agenda. There is no shame in admitting “I don’t know”, the real shame is claiming to be a scientist, yet believing in events that cannot be recreated in a laboratory.

Atheism is now the new enlightened religion. Assuming what can’t be proven, and ridiculing those who take a more moderate approach. That would be freethinkers, those who live by what is proven.

        NeoWolfe

Neo you’re guilty of the same thing many believers get caught doing on a regular basis: grouping atheists into a group that all believe one given idea. Sure many atheists get carried away with unproven science, but very few of us think we have it all figured it out. If you examined your beliefs with many other people here I have a feeling you’d find your core beliefs to be very similar- some sort of mashed up agnostic atheism that just wants to know the most they can and have the greatest possible positive impact on the world around them.

Neowolfe has been asked many times what the phrase “human condition” means. He has never been able to explain. So after a few parting insults he is now passing the task off to the clergy. Is that an example of free thinking? Inquiring mushrooms want to know.

      • avatar neowolfe says:

Whutthole wants to know what the “human condition” means.

Okay. It’s kinda like the ruthless slag floats to the top of all of history. The killers. The sociopaths became our warlords. The brightest and most efficient killers became our leaders. The lines between empires moved back and forth across Europe and Asia. And why did they sacrifice all those lives? Monetary tribute and power.

Wholesale death. Persians, Greeks, Babylonians, Egyptians, Romans, they came looking for conquered territory, money paid in tribute for the honor of being a part of a conquered province. That is the legacy of the human condition.

Escape from the human condition requires a realization that we are all brothers in a fight to prevent humans from irradicating themselves in a meaningless religious war.

Did I explain that in such a way that even a mushroom could understand?

        NeoWolfe

So it’s come out that the Left’s Sebastian of Truth and the American way, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, believes Roe v Wade was all about population control and removing those who were unwanted by society in general…

And here you thought it was all about “choice”….

Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.

When she met the Pope both she and her atheist/Muslim husband gave the secret handshake to Benedict and they retired to the dungeon of the Vatican where they sacrificed white republican babies to Satan.
All the while George and Laura Bush sat home sewing American flags together to make blankets for the poor of Beverly Hills who make less than $250,000 a year.

roe v wade was both.it does get rid of the unwanted but it doesn’t require women to abort.with time we can reduce abortion rate yet keep it legal.education, parental involvement and effective birth control can achieve these goals over time.
