Atheists Not Fully Human

I can go so many places with this. The supposed virgin in a dress is calling us subhuman. The ones who raped kids, and covered up for those rapes, thereby causing more rapes, all in the name of self-preservation. The condoms causing AIDS. Stem Cell research. This list goes on and on.

Please note, I am not angry when I see stuff like this. The emotion I feel is clearly pity. Some of these fools know they’ve wasted their lives praying to a statue or a fictional character in a book, but it’s too late for them to change now. It is their ego that keeps them in the priesthood. Others lash out at us because we are growing and they are losing, and this trend will continue. They are hurling insults, because they have nothing else to say. Poor old fool.

I think this poor old fool actually meant what he said. Of course what he said was entirely bunk, but so is all of his religion.

    • avatar neowolfe says:

He is wrong, dw, but, not entirely wrong if you look at it from his perpective and understanding of history.

Since we lived in caves we have been asking the question, “why am I here, what is the purpose of this life?” and while even today, there exist no answer to those questions, of course, for their own purposes, witchdoctors arose who pretended to have those answers, and sold it to fellow humans in exchange for money and political power. Add a little “eternal life” and you have a hat trick.

All this asshole is admitting, is that the old voodoo doesn’t work the way it used to, the false promises and sense of security isn’t enough to enslave the population at large. It used to enslave all humans, and therefore our independence seems inhuman. It almost sounds like a surrender to me.

Putting yourself in some one else’s shoes and comprehending how they look at issues is one of humanitys’ amazing abilities. I don’t think that my ability to see where he is coming from makes the reality of what he said any more right, only understandable.
It’s too bad that the caveman didn’t look out of his cave and say instead “Well, I don’t understand the way things are, where I came from, or why I’m here, but golly I’m going to make the best of it.”
To me, it’s the Cardinal that appears bizarre in that getup and not entirely human in his behavior.

They are dangerous don’t forget before the nazis were able to carry out mass murder they first had to make the victims out as less than fully human.Look at the pope reaching out to muslims a clear signal we are enemy number 1 in the eyes of the church.

      Nice consistency…it’s not a baby…it’s a fetus.

  3. avatar Steve Rider says:

As a Regional Profit Manager for the Altar Boy Rape Corporation this Cardinal is not really concerned with issues of theology as much as he is interested in the two primary goals of the Altar Boy Rape Corporation, wealth and political power.

Atheists are his enemies because we are not fooled by the smoke and mirrors. He knows that our reality-based lifestyle choice makes us immune to his mumbo jumbo. What this cretin is doing in this video is arming the Sheeple with tools for use in dissembling the rational statements of people not afflicted with horrendous ancient superstitions.

Clergy persons are useful as targets of scorn and ridicule, they serve no other useful purpose. Covering up crimes committed by their sales representatives (priests) is a part of their corporate function, but it has a negative social value, just like their Corporation.

Since the Altar Boy Rape Corporation promotes and protects child molesters it is an enemy of the human race. Many of the other corporate activities also harm innocent humans, their promotion of sexism, their reprehensible campaigns of lies about the efficacy of condom use, their inhumane opposition to family planning, and their fanatical homophobia also reduce the usefulness and legitimacy of the world’s most evil church/state corporation.

I’ve been told this shit before. I’ve been told by someone who I thought was a friend for 20 years (at least I was a convienient shoulder to cry on) that I can’t feel human emotion because I’m an Atheist. I can’t experience love because I reject god’s lave and am not entitled to any. After letting her ramble on for about a half hour, I asked “Since we are talking about god and love, how do you feel about being an abomination?” This did not go over to well. But luckily, I haven’t talked to the bitch since,

Steve, I like the Altar Boy Rape Corperation. Catchy. But it’s a bit long so my personal favorite synonym is VAMBLA, which stands for the Vatican Man-Boy Love Association. I’m sure both are equally effective.

VAMBLA is an excellent choice of acronyms on may levels.

  8. avatar pinkocommiebastard says:

He so completely permeates his statements with “in my opinion” and “the way i see it”, it’s hard for me to really care what this dude has to say. Namely because if i want an opinion or point of view, I do NOT go asking a cardinal.

The picture this “incomplete human” theory paints for me is as follows: This guy is like a used care salesman of the catholic church, it’s his job to make christ-worship and specifically Catholicism seem like the best choice for your work-a-day economy conscious everlasting soul. Atheists are generally hard to convert anyway because there is generally no faith-based foundation to build upon, so demonize them instead! make them sub-human and maybe you can at least keep the dangerously close to free thinking Catholics from considering other points of view outside the dogmatic constraints of Catholicism.

  9. avatar phreedm says:

Eh…he’s just old. Not fully responsible for his ramblings and statements. You know…just like Anthony Flew…

Probably a very wise choice. But, now you have witnessed first hand the emotional rip that happens in the mind of the brainwashed as they attempt to escape. I have nothing ill to say to you about your choice to put it behind you, it sounds like a case for a skilled professional. But, my bet would be that she went back to find some peace, and then found the reason why she left in the first place, and tried again, or gave up and killed herself. One thing is for sure, she didn’t find the Ozzie and Harriet dream in god’s loving arms.

    Welcome to Opposite World.

A world where fools blame others for the very faults they bear.

A world where the sanctimonious swagger of kings and holy men promote the very moral atrophy they claim to detest.

A world where “transcendence” to a higher place is a delusional and cowardly withdrawal from our challenging reality.

A world where the God’s pillars of virtue and representatives of humanity have made sex dirty, greed shameless, corruption justifiable, ignorance fashionable, inquiry dangerous, war glorious and peace cowardly.

A world where the “impoverished” and “diminished” secularists will ultimately enlighten our species.

No one in the united states is forced to abort. The church is free to preach that the unborn have value.

Somebody should ask the Poop what accounts for Catholics supporting torture in greater numbers than secularists.

This guy was a fundamentalist xtian until he began studying the bible in earnest:

He says he became so devoted to the Bible that he memorized entire sections. He was convinced the Bible was “God’s words.”

But Ehrman says he began to develop doubts about the infallibility of the Bible after attending Princeton Theological Seminary to become a college Bible professor.

I guess that is one good reason to study the bible carefully!

I have witnessed so many people here argue with the likes of Phreedm and JC, but it has just occurred to me that the afore mentioned have a bit of an advantage, they are fully aware of our position in matters of gods, bible, zombies and unicorns. But the same cannot be said of these two. I have been reading this blog for over two years and I have never heard them declare their beliefs, I ask them to do so now.
Do you believe in the talking snake, the zombie carpenter, the magic garden, the magic trees of knowledge and immortality? Do you hold a belief that the bible is the inerrant word of god?
I feel that without knowing the above it becomes impossible to converse with you.

    • avatar Show Me Some PROOF says:

“I feel that without knowing the above it becomes impossible to converse with you.”

I have a bad feeling that knowing won’t make it any easier. Personally I like to picture JCC as an old-fashioned Catholic nun- preaching for the sake of preaching and believing what they’re told to. Unable to hold any position of real authority, JCC slaps the bad children on the wrist whenever we make spelling errors or fail to give infallible proof that every spec of the universe was created without God. Phreedm on the other hand, is like Jesus wearing a Tuxedo shirt. Because he tries to be serious, but really just ends up looking like a dick.

You are right it is a question of personal responsibility and clearly christian women are lacking in this regard. No one is making them have sex outside of marriage much less have abortions. Why don’t churchs deny or revoke membership to persons who don’t follow bylaws and teachings they have the legal right to.I would like to see abortion become rare but i prefer to have legal abortions and know the number then have a unknown number of illegal abortions.

    • avatar Yahweh says:

Reason; they don’t revoke their “membership” because xtians have a permanent “get out of jail free card”; rape, pillage, plunder, murder, abort, lie, cheat , steal…and just accept baby je-zeus and ALL is forgiven!
      HOW CONVENIENT!

“Agreed…it would appear prolifers are right. Abortion is all about ending a life…”

Response: Abortion will not end life. But overpopulation of humans on this planet might. All life. Throw me a rubber here, fundie, as you and the other religions try to outbreed each other, and claim it’s in the name of the sanctity of life, you blinded idiots are spiraling the entire species into extinction. The more you fuck, the more kids you have to brainwash in order to serve the interest of the political power of the hierarchy of your church. It’s a religious fuckoff. The winner restores religion as the ultimate power over the planet. Then the Spanish inquistions can begin again and you can use technology this time to take cell photos as the brightest minds on the planet are executed as heritics. Perfect paradise. Just like after the flood.

  21. avatar Janus Grayden says:

Taking a detour from the current direction of the discussion. Abortion IS riveting, though.

Is this really so shocking to everyone? A core of the Christian belief is that man requires God in order to be fully complete. The very premise is that we were created with the sole purpose of believing in God.

Yes, he actually has the audacity to voice the words, but the underlying principle is more widespread than people would care to admit.

Why do you think atheists are THE least trusted group in America? Prison statistics, crime rates, academic performance figures, nothing ties atheists to any shocking or disturbing trends. What, then, would lead people to believe that atheists simply are not to be trusted?

One simple factor: we don’t believe in God and the average Christian believes that religion is the most important factor in what makes a civically-minded individual. Getting to the root of the issue: the widespread belief is that, as his Eminence so eloquently put it, we’re not fully human.

How many times does the world need to be told that we are ALL created equal, regardless of how we believe that happened.

    • avatar neowolfe says:

      Janus G.

Well written post. The unenlightened assume, and are persuaded to assume the morality is the sole possession of religion. And they live a moral code that is thousands of years short of human understanding.

Here’s what’s worthy of consideration. A hundred years ago, divorce was almost unheard of. If a woman showed up at church with a black eye and a fat lip, no one asked anything, it was her shame, and it was assumed she had it coming, because the man decided she was out of line. That seems repugnant, now, and domestic violence is not tolerated any more. But, domestic violence didn’t go away with women’s new rights, but, divorce has gone through the roof. And broken families have become so common, kids with both parents in the same house need a support group, :-) .

My point is not about equal human rights, because I believe in it without doubt, but, I was simply pointing to very clear evidence that every time we screw with social structure, there are unintended consequences.

  22. avatar Yahweh says:

From Jefferson’s ‘A Bill for Establishing Religious Liberty”:

“… our civil rights have no dependence on our religious opinions, any more than our opinions in physics or geometry; that therefore the proscribing any citizen as unworthy the public confidence by laying upon him an incapacity of being called to offices of trust and emolument, unless he profess or renounce this or that religious opinion, is depriving him injuriously of those privileges and advantages to which, in common with his fellow citizens, he has a natural right; that it tends also to corrupt the principles of that very religion it is meant to encourage, by bribing, with a monopoly of worldly honours and emoluments, those who will externally profess and conform to it; that though indeed these are criminals who do not withstand such temptation, yet neither are those innocent who lay the bait in their way; that the opinions of men are not the object of civil government, nor under its jurisdiction; that to suffer the civil magistrate to intrude his powers into the field of opinion and to restrain the profession or propagation of principles on supposition of their ill tendency is a dangerous fallacy, which at once destroys all religious liberty, because he being of course judge of that tendency will make his opinions the rule of judgment, and approve or condemn the sentiments of others only as they shall square with or differ from his own; that it is time enough for the rightful purposes of civil government for its officers to interfere when principles break out into overt acts against peace and good order; and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself; that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate; errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to contradict them.
