Let me be very clear on this one. I understand this guy’s feelings. Nothing has hurt America and this world more than organized religion, and no organized religion, even Islam, can approach the damage caused by the huge cult known as the Catholic Church. There is a TON of anger and hatred towards the Holy See, and as far as I am concerned they deserve every bit of it.
BUT vandalism is not the way to fix it. It makes us look bad to the world, and even worse, makes the world pity the church.
It is immoral to destroy private property — even if the owner is an ass. We must not sink to that level. American Atheists abhors violence and vandalism, and fully expect Mr. Hillman to pay is rightful fines and reparations. There are far more effective ways to fight the church than to break its statues.
