Elephants led by Druggie Donkey?

Conservative mega-host Rush Limbaugh disavows descriptions that he is running the GOP — and Republicans generally laugh off the idea that a radio jockey is telling them what to do — but efforts by Democrats to cast the talkmeister as the man in charge may be starting to stick. “It seems like Rush Limbaugh is the kind of he-who-must be-obeyed these days in the Republican Party,” Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine told FOX News on Tuesday. Kaine and the DNC have seized on the apology made by Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele to Limbaugh on Monday, hammering the theme that Limbaugh can’t be crossed. Steele apologized after drawing Limbaugh’s wrath over the weekend by calling the host’s shtick “incendiary” and “ugly.” His criticism was aimed at Limbaugh’s statements about wanting President Obama to fail. “As (Steele) then apologized … it left a lot of us wondering who’s really in charge,” Kaine said, initially calling Steele “courageous” for standing up to Limbaugh.

I try to stay away from political party stuff, but I must admit how wonderful it feels to watch the GOP flounder a bit, trying to remain relevant after W’s “reign of incompetence”.

.. but while Hannity et al are inflammatory I don’t recall any violence being done on their behest (directly or indirectly).

I think selling the Invasion of Iraq was one heaping helping of direct involvement in violence.

    Ayers didn’t kill anybody.

Oh, right… and he certainly didn’t try to, now did he?

That’s a pretty interesting comment, especially coming from the same person who only a month ago began his “Atheist’s Letter to Michael Steele” with: I am a Republican Atheist…

Yeh, at the time that Dave made that post I called him out with the following:

For the past 30 years the religious right has been a tool for foreign policy hawks, war mongers and voodoo economics raiders. What this thread is saying is “Gee I would like to support the Right’s destruction of our economy and foreign policy but …”

Who started this thread? If it was Dave then it is totally dishonest. Dave, tell me you didn’t write this.

Oh what a tangled web he weaves.

I can’t believe I actually have to point this out (actually, I can, because I’m responding to a brick wall) :

Of the day he bombed the Pentagon, Ayers says, “Everything was absolutely ideal. …The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.”

Funny. The quote which you attribute to Ayers does not mention killing anybody.

    To: Boise Jim,

When’s the last time you heard of a liberal committing violence towards conservatives?

Seriously, I can’t think of one.

    Wow! I mean, really, Wow!

At least ten of the delegates attending the Republican National Convention that had bleach sprayed in their faces by winsome liberal “activists” would like a word with you. Also, there were physical assaults, tire slashing, window breaking, bottle and rock throwing, and wrist-rocket style slingshots fired at Republicans. I can can make a really, really long list out of this. But you can use Google, right?

    I said:

    What responds with:

    No he didn’t.

I respond with Ayer’s quote unequivocally showing that he hoped to kill someone:

the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.

What responds with this non sequitur:

The quote which you attribute to Ayers does not mention killing anybody.

Conclusion: affirmation of my suspicion that I’m attempting to reason with a brick wall…

Your quote didn’t mention killing anybody but you would like to “believe” that it does. Sorry but your belief doesn’t make anything true – not about Ayers or about your sky fairy. The conclusion you should be making is that you are thick as a brick.

    Dvan said this:

“It’s bizarre to me that Michael Steele would apologize to an extremist, conservative talk radio host for calling him out on his extremism.”

Indeed, it is bizarre from an intelligent perspective, but, it is totally predictable from the GOP political perspective. Limbaugh is the guru for the blinded far right, and it’s one of the key constituencies of the GOP. He may be a madman, but he’s a pied piper playing the magic tune on his pipe for millions of mindless rats. They need him, and idiot guru that he is, they need every idiot vote that places any worth on his hypocritical, junky, psychopathic opinion. And really, you have to know, that he doesn’t believe most of the shit he says himself, he’s a performer, a talkshow host. Every day he has a producer showing him demographics of how listeners react to the bullshit he pukes. Capitalism, ratings, bullshit, they all function toward generating a bargaining position for a nice contract renewal. I know, DVan, that you know exactly what I’m talking about. The Limbaugh listeners are the only idiots that are still staunchly loyal to the GOP. They can’t afford to piss them off as well.

Guess again, Jack. Demonstrably false assertions like that prove that it’s you who has somehow convinced yourself that’s true, and in all probability

[don't] believe most of [what you] say [your]self

  13. avatar neowolfe says:

I’m sorry Tarma, but after you have called me out on several occassion, it’s your turn:

“Rush Limbaugh, Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, Michael Steele, Michele Bachmann – comedy gold all, but too stupid (and arrogant) to realize it.

If they are the best the Republicans can come up with, their party appears destined to fade away.”

Answer me this, if the best they had was GW Bush, what then? Well, we all know that wouldn’t work, but, it did for the average voter the last two times around. If the Democrats can’t paint a black line between republican failure, and the track record of the next four years, the god party will be back in spades. I don’t know if “trailer trash” is an appropriate label for you, but, what I can say is you don’t study, nor do you think, before you speak. That would make you an excellent Republican.

Settle down JCC, I was simply drawing to your attention, for your benefit, that you are a narrow minded idiot, friends tell friends the truth. You can’t, and won’t defend your ridiculous story book of gods, holy men and heroes, yet you want to engage sane individuals in a debate about science. Even you can imagine how ridiculous that scenario is. I don’t hate you, as a matter of fact, for a number of days I tried to explain to you that you can keep your intuition about the origin of the universe, without making a fool of yourself defending your book of ridiculous myths. That’s where I am, and I think atheists assume too much, but, I think you are making an absolute ass of yourself, and the only one who hasn’t realized that fact is you.

You are a smart guy, and the only investigation you haven’t made yet in earnest is into you own ridiculous beliefs. Maybe that is why you are here, so I can say that to you. The mirror is on the wall, now all you have to do is be honest with yourself.

& JCC, we all know you have this weird obsession w/Ayers, but I can pretty much say w/certainty, you and WorldNutDaily are the only people who give a flying fuck.

For weeks the press was dominated by the Israeli slaughter of 130+ Palestinians (700+) of which were civilians. What did Dave have to say about this incident? He does want to vacation there – a glib flippant response to genocide.

    I dunno – I think you’re the 1 obsessed, mein freund.

You make posts to this blog regarding a lot of things that are insignificant compared to the treatment that the Palestinians endure and of little consequence to anybody but a few atheists (myself included) and yet you dare label me as “obsessed” and “self-involved”.
