Judge Luigi Tosti: Traditionally Courtrooms in Roman Catholic Italy have crucifixes on the wall behind the judge’s bench. Judge Tosti of Italy declined for months to hold court in Camerino, Italy, because he insisted that religious symbols have no place in a court of law. In 2005 he was convicted for failing to carry out his official duties and sentenced to seven months in prison and a one-year suspension. Judge Tosti appealed and does not have to serve the sentence until the appeals process has been exhausted. I think Judge Luigi Tosti is having the opposite of the problem we are having here in Richland County.Judge James DeWeese is insisting posting the ten commandments in his courtroom stating that it is the basis of United States law. Judge Luigi Tosti has law to back him up, the only snag being does the Prime minister(president) Silvio Berlusconi run the government or does the Vatican.
Our local judge here in Richland County was ordered to remove the ten commandments. The last I heard he had removed them but then hung up another set that was considered even worse.
What value is a government that will not obey the law itself?
Remind me again which US law forbids the worship of non xian gods, which US law makes Sunday worship compulsory, which US law forbids sex outside of marriage, or which US law forbids coveting a neighbours wife or ass? I always forget.

The notion that the Ten Commandments are the basis of U.S. law is idiotic. Many of them would be thrown out as unconstitutional.
Besides, which version of the Big 10 does Judge DeWeese want posted? Does he prefer the ones from the Cecil B. DeMille version of the biblical narrative or the ones that are actually called the “Ten Commandments” in the Bible? (Ex 34:14-28)
Anyway, kudos to Judge Luigi Tosti. Maybe he should consider bringing his legal practice to this country. We could surely use more judges like him.
