Today marks the 36th anniversary of the Roe V Wade decision allowing abortion.I’ve always considered abortion to be an issue of separation of church and state, since only religion would make a person think that a fertilized egg has the same rights (a soul) as a living human. There are a small but significant number of atheists who disagree. They see it as a safety issue — since we can’t pinpoint when life actually begins, we mighty as well err on the side of never killing a person.What’s your opinion?
The proposed “pill for men” uses androgens to decrease sperm count. This is potentially fraught with many problems and especially so for teenage boys. I have been following this quest for sometime and I remain skeptical of the safety of such contraceptives.
My opinion is that it isn’t appropriate for the government or the opinion of any group regardless of the size or motivations to be the determining factor for or against abortion.
Abortion is a very private and personal matter between a woman, her partner and doctor. I think the woman should be presented all of the available options and be allowed to make an informed and educated decision that is comfortable and practical for her.
Government and special interests have no business regulating abortion.

Women should be able to handle their own choices, just as men shouldn’t be dragged into their decisions if they didn’t want to be.
I have no problems with abortion. I had an abortion earlier this year (twins) and was relieved that the decision to terminate the pregnancy was negotiated between my husband, my doctor and myself. Frankly, I did not want to go through another c-section after the horror/scare of my first delivery…I cannot IMAGINE being forced to undergo an invasive medical procedure such as a c-section!!!!! I opted for the IUD to avoid any more pregnancies. The IUD irritates the lining of my uterus so that the fertilized egg cannot implant itself. I have thus created a hostile environment, booby-trapped my uterus…The IUD can last up to 10 years in my system…I will have NO idea how many “deaths” I will have caused each time I menstruate and the uterine matter is flushed out. OOPS! Guess the gov’t should ban IUDs as well ’cause I’m just a dumbass piece of meat incapable of making decisions about my body…Ladies, it’s the Catholic rhythm method or a sock….LOL! I’m just sayin’…

It’s not a dillema at all. If it were, there would be no contraception. Remember the IUD? They used to call it a “coil”. It does not prevent fertilization, it causes irritation to the uterine wall which prevents implantation. That’s what the pill does too only it’s caused by hormonal interference. The only way to prevent fertilization is with a prophilactic which includes diaphragms or a spermacidal sponge. But even so, in any event, look at your Bible, and find a guy named Obed. His story would imply that if you get your tool wet without intentions to procreate, you deserve to die. Can you live up to that standard or, after all your preaching, are you destined for hell? You horny bastard, I knew it!!

Great post. Well researched. I used to have a reference guide that all you had to do was remember a key word from a verse and you could find it. It burned with my Bible. But, what I would add is that god saw men had forgotten him, men were marrying women, women were being given in marriage, etc., so he murdered every man, woman, and CHILD on the planet, except for his buddy Noah and his family. Obviously a person who values every precious life.
