Speaking of activism...

Last month it was discovered that AA had erroneously given credit of a quote, on their new web site, to Thomas Jefferson in an attempt to prove the "myth"...

Last November, Mr. Ed posted the following letter...

Atheists win Legal battle

This case arose out of what we alleged was a denial of civil rights, and a conspiracy to violate civil rights, by state actors in Oklahoma against members of the Smalkowski family and other members of American Atheists. The Smalkowski family has made its own separate settlement with the defendants. Our lawsuit was based on the denial of civil rights to Atheists in the Oklahoma school, using the treatment of the Smalkowskis as evidence for this claim, and seeking redress for Atheists.

We thank the Smalkowski family for their praise of our efforts on their behalf and we wish them well in their future undertakings.

/>
National Legal Director
American Atheists, Inc.

http://atheists.org/blog/index.php/2008/11/09/title_25#comments

It appears the Smalkowskis' weren't very happy with AA...

Letter from the Smalkowski Family

"We thank the Smalkowski family for their praise of our efforts on their behalf and we wish them well in their future undertakings." From an American Atheist press release.

What a bunch of bull. Nicole fired American Atheist and Edwin Kagin right after convention.

American Atheist after we fired them made this end run with the help of Rick Rice. Seems they profited. How they claimed damages is beyond me. We were not involved.
As for our cases, we did not profit. We are still broke from our legal costs! We are trying to salvage Nicoles future but like I said we are broke.
We were totally disgusted with our legal team.

http://www.guymondailyherald.com/content/view/115176/27/

It would appear that since Mr. Ed took the reigns of power at AA, profit has trumped truth...

My question is, did AA under Mr. Ed's leadership offer to help the Smalkowskis' if we are to believe their letter posted in the local paper...?

Great lesson in "morality"...now tell me again how those without a foundation can develop superior values...
