I wish we would just say that. This “war on Christmas” is really something that ought to happen. Of course we can just wait for Christians to spoil their own holiday, but that’s taking a long time.

Plus it shouldn’t be a “war.” Christians and FoxNews can’t talk about activism they don’t like without invoking warlike rhetoric. I think we should organize opposition against it. And we have, to a large extent. That’s enough for me, but let’s be honest about it. They’re the violent ones, not us.

Many of us consider everything Christmas to be a scam that harms humanity. Someday I’ll make a long list of ways.

Hmmmm…I don’t believe FDR felt the same way…

Franklin Roosevelt said in his Christmas Message, 1942:

“I say that loving our neighbor as we love ourselves is not enough-
that we as a Nation and as individuals will please God best by
showing regard for the laws of God.

There is no better way of fostering good will toward man than by
first fostering good will toward God. If we love Him we will keep His
Commandments.”

Franklin Roosevelt continued:

It is significant that Christmas Day our plants and factories will be
stilled. That is not true of the other holidays.”

Franklin Roosevelt concluded:

“On all other holidays work goes on- gladly- for the winning of the
war. So Christmas becomes the only holiday in all the year.

I like to think that this is so because Christmas is a holy day. May
all it stands for live and grow throughout the years.”

An interesting book has just been published…conservatives are more generous then liberals…(imagine that)

I think that’s the point. If the Constitution doesn’t allow for the establishment of religion, then a holiday must be secular or unconstitutional, no matter what some politician might put in a speech. The fact that a fascist like FDR was into religion as much as a conservative like Reagan doesn’t change that fact.
