The selection of bigot Rick Warren is an affront to non-believers and queers alike. I'm both, and I'm disgusted because Obama's choice reveals him as nothing but a second-tier politician who, as thanks to the queers and atheists who donated and worked their asses off to get him elected, chooses to make kissie-face with the most extremist elements of the religious right.

This isn't change I can believe in.

Warren is a bigot!

He says he could vote for someone of another religion, but never an atheist.

People for the American Way President Kathryn Kolbert told CNN she is "deeply disappointed" with the choice of Warren, and said the powerful platform at the inauguration should instead have been given to someone who is "consistent mainstream American values.”
"[W]ho is consistent mainstream American values?" How 'bout "who has consistent mainstream..."? Sadly, it's obvious that either the copywriter at CNN or Kolbert or Silverman, or all three show that they are products of the woeful American educational system... And how hysterical to claim that Warren isn't "consistent [with] mainstream American values" when according to a CBS News poll, 54% of the population is pro-life. And Dobson's "ideas are radical?" The only thing "radical" about them is the degree of difference in them and those of Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers.

But the real question is why Warren would choose to be associated with the true radical, Uh-Bama in the first place?
rick warren was at the forefront of the Yes on Prop 8 campaign in CA and he is responsible more than any other individual for denying basic civil rights to the gay citizens of that state. mr warren also Obama is showing disgustingly poor judgement in choosing such a polarizing and divisive figure to deliver the invocation at his inaguration. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nations largest gay rights organization, has sent a very strong letter to Obama expressing their dismay at the choice of a regressive bigot such as warren to deliver this speech. I urge everyone to contribute to their efforts to provide civil rights for all Americans.
