Hagan handled Doles accusations in a terrible manner

Put yourself in Hagan’s shoes: a politician running for election in a constituency that is largely atheophobic.

Suppose you were living in Nazi-occupied Europe, and an enemy went to the authorities and declared, falsely, that you were a Jew. Regardless of your feelings about Jews, wouldn’t you take that as a vicious slander?

The “Secular Humanism” in the Torcaso case was a specific group that called itself the “Secular Humanist Church”. The decision was not about generic secular humanism.
