Now is the time to speak up!

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/55722.html WASHINGTON ? It’s no surprise to Steve Lowe that being an atheist is considered taboo. But when the head of the Washington Area Secular Humanists saw Sen. Elizabeth Dole’s “godless” campaign ad, he did something he’d done only once before ? he sent money to a political candidate. Turns out, Sen.-elect Kay Hagan got 3,600 contributions within 48 hours of Dole airing of the controversial ad, which centered on Hagan’s attendance at a fund-raiser at the Boston home of someone active in the atheist community. The Democrat from Greensboro had immediately used the “godless” ad as an e-mail fund-raising tool, and it paid off. “I told Hagan’s campaign, ‘This is the reason you’re getting money from me ? I want you to know this is not hurting you, this has helped you,’” said Lowe said, who gave $50 to Hagan and called Dole, R-N.C., several times to complain.

By paying his taxes on a relatively large income Obama is paying to send other parent’s kids to school. To make those tax dollars go further he may send his kids to a private school which he and his wife will pay for as well. What evil lurks?

    SMARTER TROLLS PLEASE!!!!

I’d say this was a racial slur from our precious phreedm if it wasn’t slightly more likely to be due to his poor spelling skills…

Your first instinct was correct. It was a racial slur.

    LESS BIGOTED TROLLS PLEASE!

For the same reason I can’t pay $40,000 to have the 10 commandments posted on the side of a city bus…

My intuition says that if you have $40,000 to give to the always cash-strapped bus company, they’ll post damn near anything you want to say (as long as you don’t have those 7 dirty words in your message).

They’ll probably post even more for $40,000 more! For $100,000, you could probably cover the whole bus, maybe even the entire fleet (that might cost more like a 1/2 million)!

Stupid is as stupid spends money.

    cry4…

You miss the point. It’s not a question of spending the money.

It’s a question of why does AA not see the hypocracy of a humanist group mentioning God in an ad but screams about the “myth” if a christian group does the same thing…

  5. phreedm says:

    Castlenob…

A “racial slur”…? Would it be a racial slur if a blackman called NObama the messiah?

    Of course not…

    As I’ve stated…”Stupidity ruled on November 4th…

If you could step back and think clearly you’d understand that NObama supporters are going to use the race card every single time he brings out a program that you disagree with…

    Excuse #2

Of course it’s not a surprise coming from you…

  7. godless sodomite says:

So phreedum you dont think that people should be free to spend their own money, not someone elses, to send their kids to the school of their choice? no one cares if you spend your own money to send your kids to a religious school but we do care if you take our tax dollars in the form of vouchers to send someone elses kids to a religious school. Would you support your tax dollars supporting school vouchers for muslim or jewish or humanist schools?

Phreeky doesn’t know what he thinks and he openly admits that “stupidity ruled” his decisions on Nov 4.

  9. what says:

And to make matters worse Phreeky does everything he can to divert resources from schools to his feckless religion.

    Phreedm:
Even though I strongly disagree with your position on vouchers…
I think you’re right, it does seem hypocritical for Obama to take a strong position in support of public schools, then determine they are not good enough for his own children. He should enroll them in the public school system.

Also your darling Sarah Palin put Barack Obama in the White House.
Ralph Nader was polling between 4 and 6 percent prior to McCain’s VP pick, then Nader sunk like a rock in the polls. On election night he only received .9% of the national vote. You may think that it’s just a coincidence, but even my “wife” abandoned Nader to vote AGAINST Sarah Palin… This was a very common reason our support (Nader’s) evaporated. If Ralph Nader would have received only 4% of the vote John McCain would be the president. If John McCain would have picked a moderate to share his ticket he would be the president. You (Republicans) have no one to blame but yourselves for Barack Obama’s victory.

  11. phreedm says:

CEH…and exactly what did your wife find wrong with Palin?

Moderates…sorry, but I’d never place my trust in a bunch of people who lick their fingers and hold them into the wind to figure out who to vote for…

  12. phreedm says:

Alex…try looking at this discussion through the promises from the “messiah” during his campaign…

If you can’t see his elitism, then all of your college and reading have failed you…

  13. castletonsnob says:

    phreedm whined:

A “racial slur”…? Would it be a racial slur if a blackman called NObama the messiah?

You are one cretinous cracker, phreedm!

You typed “massiah” instead of “messiah.”

“Massiah” sounds(and looks)pretty close to “massah,” as in:

I’s so sorry, massah phreedm, please don’ tells me about the Jesus no mo’!

    A Phreudian slip, perhaps?

And how does an alleged Christian misspell “messiah,” anyway?

  14. what says:

… I’d never place my trust in a bunch of people who lick their fingers and hold them into the wind to figure out who to vote for…

And what did Phreeky stick his finger in before licking it and deciding BushCo II would be a good choice for our GOP-ransacked country? So much for the “smell test”.

  15. what says:

    castletonsnob

Phreeky thinks a Phreudian slip is what he dresses up in when the wife’s not home.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that of course.

We have all heard the numerous criticisms of the Palin VP pick… I am, frankly, sick of rehashing it.
