I still think the state of California should not allow professional religious people to perform legal marriage ceremonies. Everybody, straight and gay, should be married by a court employee, with a civil wedding being the only legal way to get married. All the ones who want the blessing of the big daddy in the sky can have whatever ceremony tickles their fancy. A challenge has already been filed regarding this case. The defeat is only a temporary setback and I firmly believe that marriage equality is inevitable in this country especially now that we have the most gay friendly president ever in office.
