Even in a redneck state like FL, you can get married by a notary public - but NOT in MD.<br /> <br /> We searched and searched, and finally found a minister who was willing to do a garden ceremony with minimal mention of God (we weren't quite "completely" atheists at the time).<br /> <br /> We did not want to get married at the courhouse, and for sure we were not going to get married in a church.<br /> <br /> I'm with you FairyDogMother, save all that wedding $ and get a house, or go on an amazing honeymoon.
