Couples Needed

Please spread the word that I am looking for couples who desire to have a “religion free” wedding ceremony in the state of New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. I want the couple to visit my website and write to me about servicing their needs. Sorry, Texas is out of bounds but I’m similar to Dave in a mixed marriage but my wife is very liberal and defensive of the atheist view so it’s not bad and luckily very happy with UU so we are meeting halfway but she brought up the idea of renewing our vows in a secular way and I was so happy:)

    Wow what a deal!
Too bad I live in TX but I love the idea.

Sorry- we already had ours. It was at the courthouse (Elkton MD) and was very nice.
It was on a weekday which is usually not what most people want. But we had to get married quick- before settlement on our house ;)
We took the extra 25,000 and put it down on a house!- I know you are supposed to SPEND it on crap but even as a girl I never wanted a big shindig and I especially didn’t want some religious freaks at my marriage!
But I will keep your info and pass it along if I hear of anyone planning marriage!

OT: palin said gawd would do the right thing on election day. guess that happened! :D

My DH and I were married in MD in 1986, and our choices were: get a civil ceremony in a courthouse, or get a minister to marry us. Even in a redneck state like FL, you can get married by a notary public – but NOT in MD.

We searched and searched, and finally found a minister who was willing to do a garden ceremony with minimal mention of God (we weren’t quite “completely” atheists at the time).

We did not want to get married at the courhouse, and for sure we were not going to get married in a church.

I’m with you FairyDogMother, save all that wedding $ and get a house, or go on an amazing honeymoon. We had only our best man & matron of honor at our wedding (plus the photographer & minister). My dress was actually a prom dress to which I added a crown of flowers and ribbons. Our cake was made at a Safeway grocery store, and was really pretty.

We spent our wedding night in a hotel, but no real honeymoon. We bought a new car instead. About 10 months later we went to the Poconos and to Williamsburg, VA. P.S. We are still happily married! :-)

I can not believe how much people spend on weddings, and how stressed out they get! They sure think a lot about the wedding, but not so much about the actual marriage!

Thanks for offering this service, Ms. Downey! I hope you get a lot of clients!
