As happy as I am to hear the words “President-elect Obama”, and to see women’s rights upheld, I’m sorry to see that the nation remains narrow-minded regarding the rights same-sex couples.

It appears that my state of California is going to legalize discrimination based on genetics by passing Prop 8. People made moronic decisions when they are uninformed. At this time there are still 3 million uncounted provisional and late absentee ballots, so there is still an outside chance. I don’t think I will bet on it though.

  3. what says:

Dems didn’t get the magic 60 so it’s time to turn the screws on Liebermoney. Make an example of this traitorous shill for Israel!

AL Franken barely lost in MN. Does anybody know what the election laws are in MN. Will there be a run off. Al was the right choice. What went wrong in MN?

  5. DVanWechel says:

    What,

I believe that race isn’t yet decided. The close vote there falls within the Minnesota’s mandatory recount law.

Don’t think we’ll know for certain the outcome until mid-December.

  6. DVanWechel says:

As a side note, I know where I’d run for office if I’m ever convicted of a felony… Alaska.

It appears corruption is a trait Alaskan voters can overlook.

    Unbelievable.

P.S. Why is it a convicted felon can’t vote, but he/she can run for office and legislate? Now that makes perfect sense.

  7. godless sodomite says:

Did you see Sarah Palin trying to hold back the tears last night? Epic fucking lulz. Pack your bags you religious cunt and go back to Alaska. You betcha!

  8. reason says:

    The kool aid drinkers won.
I’m suprised the riff raff didn’t riot to celebrate.Obama is no friend to atheists or whites he and his ilk are foes to be fought every step of the way. This election is not the end but just one battle.

  9. DVanWechel says:

    Reason,

    You’re so funny.

i would not trust Obama to be an ally for you gays.He has deep roots in islam and you know how they treat you gays.

  11. reason says:

    DVanWechel
you won’t think it is so funny when he completes the job Bush started of running this country into the ground.

  12. reason says:

Obama an mccain supported bailout Obama like mccain was not going to just up in pull troops out of iraq.
    Both support giving illegals citizenship.
The only change you have is one is white the other is half white.

Huh!? Sober up. Americans 20 binge and 8 year stupor is coming to an end. Be a part of the solution.

i would not trust Obama to be an ally for you gays.He has deep roots in islam and you know how they treat you gays.

You are out of your mind, Obama is an agnostic or atheist and only plays lip service to his xian religiosity.

Obamas record as the most gay friendly politician in history is well documented. Just as Clinton was the first “black president” so Obama will be the first “gay president”.

Today I am more proud to be an American than I have been in the past eight years nightmare of failed evangelical dimwitted presidency. Now lets all fight to see Bush Co tried for crimes against humanity.

  15. reason says:

    What
You aren’t stupid so don’t play stupid.there is no money to fulfill his promises.he talks a good game i’ll him give credit for that.

  16. reason says:

    godless sodomite
it is you who is out of his mind if you think this guy gives a damn if gays live or die as for being agnostic or atheist show me something solid to prove it otherwise go back to drinking your kool aid.i’m really suprised by you.
btw hoped you had a great trip to spain.

  17. godless sodomite says:

I think Obamas record on gay rights speaks for itsself.

Spain was great but Im glad to be back home in the USA.

  18. reason says:

    godless sodomite
    you mean like
his cousin odinga in kenya who has a record of inciting mass murder.Or do you prefer the record of mugabe who destroyed the economy.

  19. godless sodomite says:

Erm, Odingas and Mugabes legacies are their own, not Obamas. You really are out of your mind, mate.

  20. NotSoFast says:

    What, GodSod, et al,

How can I encourage you in your extravagant optimism?

I figure, the more disappointed you are in how the Obama Nation turns out, the more likely you’ll finally see that the 2-party system is a root cause of all our problems.

  21. what says:

    NotSoFast

What extravagant optimism? Climbing out of the economic and foreign policy hole dug by BushCo will be a huge task and I have no delusions about the difficulty of the tasks ahead. Do you? Are you going to be a part of the solution or will you continue to advocate for the problem?

  22. what says:

Also. It’s much easier to change a party from within than to create a successful opposing party. The RR did it. OK, so they ultimately destroyed the GOP in doing so but such is evolution.

  23. atheistmike says:

So phreedm is still thinking about what to say – or is he “speechless”?

  24. DVanWechel says:

So phreedm is still thinking about what to say – or is he “speechless”?

Maybe he’s just busy getting fitted for his new white sheet and hood?

  25. Tuen says:

Thank you George Bush. Without you, this wouldn’t have been possible in 2008.

Now let’s watch Palin fade forever into the oblivion from which she came.

  26. godless sodomite says:

So phreedm is still thinking about what to say – or is he “speechless”?

I reckon he is either at home in a catatonic state brought about by extreme shock or is down at the church self flagellating and screaming in tounges.

Ah, the delicious Schadenfreude of it all.

  27. quantum_flux says:

It is apparent that my party was SMOKED OUT by the Obama Campaign!

  28. CascadiaEventHorizon says:

    NotSoFast:

The two party system is the root of all our problems. Truer words have rarely been spoken. BushCo did not put us in this hole, both parties have been digging it for a long time. I’m glad someone here didn’t drink the kool aid. We’re screwed.

  29. DiArtemis says:

Why are you all so negative?
    Hope and unity have prevailed.
Is it beyond your capacity to be happy?

  30. godless sodomite says:

Im happy that Obama won but there is a lot of truth in the naysayers here. If we truly lived in a free republic there would be five or ten political parties fighting for votes, not two.

  31. Tim Ren says:

    Alex,

Although I would like to see a viable third and even fourth political party, there are also perils of which I am sure you are aware of, from having too many parties. For instance, Italy has had over fifty different governments since the end of WWII, because they have so many parties, they have to form coalitions in order to govern, and they often fall apart, preventing anything from getting done.

On a side note; maybe with the passage of Prop 8 in CA, Ashton Kucher (sp?) can get a new show on MTV called, ‘You’ve been Jeebused’. Just a thought. UnGodly, you should trade mark that one.

One more thing. YES WE DID!

  32. Larry Reynolds rainbows4dinosaurs says:

    UnGodly

It looks like my marital status will be changing from ‘married’ to ‘Jeebused’.

Yeah, that sucks. I’m truly sorry about that.

  33. Obeah says:

We in Canada now have four parties: The Conservatives, The Liberals, The New Democratic Party and The Greens.
The last two elections resulted in in a split vote in favour of The Conservatives.

With 40% of the vote they form the government and claim to have a mandate. Granted it is a minority government so the other parties have a small amount of power, but exercising it could trigger another election and the electorate would punish them.

I’m not sure more parties is the answer.

  34. flashbazzzbo says:

Ungodly,I am also sorry for your plight. It’s deplorable. However,I urge you to stay strong, because no matter what, you are still who you are,and the small minded fucktards can’t take that away from you.
