A different kind of whacko.

The Federation of Light has made a statement that there will be a hugh spaceship appear in our skys on Oct. 14 08. It will stay in our sky’s for 3 days. Our governments around the world will try and attack them. The Federation of Light will do nothing for they will come in peace. Their purpose here will to show people that other life forms do exist in the universe and to bring forth a discloser on the subject by us. So we can begin a new beginning for mankind and join together so we can advance to a new level of exsistance. Beyond our imagination.

Wow. it didn’t happen. I guess the space aliens from space didn’t set their space alarm clocks. In space.

    They must have spaced out.

As people grow more and more disenchanted with preposterous ancient tribal religious delusions I think we will see more and more space age woo cults fill in the gaps for people afraid to think or face reality.

Earth might have been populated by space aliens, and such crap.

  3. sam moore jr says:

Of course, I don’t believe this but I’m sure there are other living worlds out there in the Universe. (That’s the one thing I believe without evidence). Well said, atheistmike.

Didn’t happen?! So I alerted Captain Underpants for nothing! Tra La Laaa!

  5. Boise Jim says:

What in the world is a ‘hugh spaceship’? Did they actually name the spaceship Hugh? Hugh doesn’t sound like a menacing name. Sounds kind of nice, actually. I knew a Hugh once. He was really nice.

Ooh, maybe they should have called it ‘Maverick’, then people may have paid attention.

Nice grammar, fellas. It sure helped the authenticity.

  6. ga4ry says:

I wonder why phreedom never comments on stories like these, could it be that giant spaceships floating in the sky is a little to close to giant dead jewish carpenters floating in the sky?

  7. josh_karpf says:

We COULD be seeing the seed of a future religion here.

Could the nineteenth-century Millerites — after their failed prediction of Jesus’s second coming in 1844 — have imagined that their movement would evolve into the powerful Jehovah’s Witnesses, after claiming that Jesus had come not to earth but just a little closer to earth?

At least the Federation of Light people didn’t kill themselves off like the Heaven’s Gate people.

  8. godless sodomite says:

I thought I read somewhere that these people retracted their prediction of a giant spaceship appearing this week. Anyone looked skyward today?

Maybe there’s a planet Hugh in a galaxy far, far away. Slogan: Hugh first; for Hugh, by Hugh, all Hugh.

Perhaps the captain of the spaceship forgot to disengage the cloaking device and the Hughites are wondering why we aren’t all firing missiles at them.

Ack! Earth is doomed to the same level of existence because the Peter Principle applies to Hugh!

  10. Jaydave says:

ALL PRAISE HUGH or perish in ever lasting tourture and fire , oh and send checks money while your waiting for the ship

  11. DVanWechel says:

I still haven’t been able to figure out what a hugh spaceship is? Does it mean Hefner was piloting? Isn’t a he a little old to be flying around in spaceships?

Great Scott, October 14 was yesterday! Marty, can you go to the local supermarket and pick up some weapons grade plutonium for my flux capacitor?

I wonder if McCain will try to link Obama to Charles Manson in tonight’s debate?

I wonder, if McCain loses the election, if Palin will be made head of NASA, since she can see space from her back yard?

    Karen

That’s a gem! Thanks for the laugh.

  19. karen says:

    What

De nada. ;) I’m surprised there hasn’t been a whole “backyard” meme developed already. Maybe there is, and I’m unaware of it.

I can see the heartland from my backyard. I guess I am qualified to be an ignorant hayseed.

Silly alien cult people! Don’t they know that the world won’t end until Jesus returns, descending magically from the sky.

  24. antaresrichard says:

I wonder if those going out to greet the ship on the 14th ran into any die-hard 1844 Millerites still refusing to be “disappointed”? Come the 22nd of this month it’ll be 164 years and counting for them.

  25. DD Dropout says:

Palin can see large thermonuclear reactions from her backyard. That’s why she should be allowed to use the launch codes.

    Can you say nucular?

I don’t believe in life on other planets. But there is a statistical probability that there is. If there is, it’s also probable that they’re too far away for to ever find out about each other.

Two spaceships that pass in the night…

Im confused…so do you or dont you accept that there is life outside of our planet?

If there is, it’s also probable that they’re too far away for to ever find out about each other.

Why is this probable? if a civilisation has technology that allows them to warp space-time or exploit worm holes then they could travel to any place in the universe in an instant without violating any of the rules of physics.
