Another debate tonight

McBush is losing ground in all states. Tonight I predict:1) More god-talk from both candidates.2) Obama’s middle name will be uttered by McBush3) There will be a mention of the Keating 5 S&L scandal, in which McBush was involved.4) Fembush will NOT attend or spin5) McBush is still going to lose.

…and why is this debate being held in a x-tian university?

My main anticipation for the debate tonight is to see how Obama handles the inevitable abortion question. Will he man-up and just say he’s prochoice, that a one-issue, antiabortion voter should just vote for the other guy, or will he vacillate and make a complete ass of himself like Kerry did in 2004?

Oh, and it will be fun to watch McCain’s vein bulging grimaces.

The way that Biden flaked out and hesitated before saying in the debate that he didnt support marriage equality? of course he and Obama support full gay equality but they must lie to pander to religiously motivated bigotry.

  4. UnGodly says:

    Godless Sodomite,

That religion stuff sure does come in handy when you want to justify your bigotry! I say we all picket Wal*Mart for selling cotton-poly blends on Sunday. I hate polyester, and Jeebus hates it too.

I like point #5 in the OP, McBush sure is going to lose. The only remaining question is whether it will be the most awsomely stunning defeat in US election history.

I hope the forum of tonight’s debate encourages answers of more substance than just rehearsed fluff ? unlike the last debate.

I’m probably hoping for too much.

I was very disappointed to see that. He didn’t even try to allude to gay marriage. Al Gore wouldn’t have given in so easily!

I predict Fembush will show up.

Its a town hall style debate with questions being taken from a group of 120 pre selected members of the public so expect to see the candidates true colours come shining through. It wont be all rehearsed and approved talking points tonight and I predict that it will be nasty with plenty of mudslinging. mccain is traling by several points in all the polls and he will be fighting for his life like a cornered and wounded animal. Grab the popcorn…

    OT
Record number of openly gay and 1esbian political candidates running for office this year-over 100!

Well Dave…I see you’ve dropped the “myth” of being neutral in political events…

And like a good little robot your carrying the water for the Dems…

    Hmmm…you lose Dave.

  15. reason says:

both obama and mccain have proven they are unfit.not enough guts to admit whatever they wanted to do has been wiped out by the economic downturn.
and who the heck are they to lecture russia the united states has propped up dictators in latin america, asia.if you donated to their campagins you should demand a refund.

  16. reason says:

why is it that candidates have to pledge to defend a foreign nation [israel].it is not anti semitic to demand that american jews choose america or israel.we don’t defeat candidates who refuse to pledge to defend cambodia.

Well, I thought Obama really kicked ass but I am becoming one-sided. Sure, I would have voted Democratic anyway, given the simple fact that McBush promises more Supreme Court Justices like Scalia. Tonight, I just thought mcBush looked old, changed the subject constantly, and truly looked unpresidential.

    Too bad. He’s fallen far.

And… no god at all in the debate!!! What does this tell you?

  19. Tim says:

Looks like David is 0 for 5… no surprise really.

Looks like he has a lot of company here.

  20. reason says:

    Tim
i think your wrong about David having alot of support here for the Dem ticket.the fact is mccain has gone off track.mccain has courage so did custer but where is the judgement.we the united states can’t continue forever doing it our way on a credit card from china.

  21. atheistmike says:

Dave, I guess only 4) and 5) are correct.

No mention of a gawd, but you notice someone had to hurry up and get an Israel question in at the last.

This one really mystifies me. The gentleman was asking if we would help protect Israel if they were attacked by Iran. If we stand by and do nothing, IRAN would need the help. Do people forget that they have something like 200 nukes in their arsenal? Of course, the xians have a woody for Israel no matter what the realities on the ground are in the Middle East. Most people in this country would not let a question like this influence their vote.

  22. CascadiaEventHorizon says:

    Dave:

Although I respect your opinion and choice… These are just a few reasons I would never consider voting for Obama. I consider each a deal breaker:

    1. Obama’s backing of faith based initiative.
    2. Obama’s support for the Wall Street bailout.
    3. Obama’s stated position on Israel,”Jerusalem will remain the capitol of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”
    4. Obama’s failure to push for the impeachment of the most impeachable administration in history.
    5. Obama’s stated belief in “free markets” and “free trade.” Which puts our working class in direct competition with “sweatshop labor”.
    6. Obama’s vote for FISA
    7. Obama’s position on gay marriage.
    8. Obama’s intent to increase our already bloated defense budget, and his hawkish posturing toward Iran and Pakistan.
    9. Obama’s energy policy which does too little, and will take too long.
    10. Obama’s health-care plan that will not fix the crisis (even Obama admits his plan won’t cover everyone)
    etc…etc…etc…

A vote for Obama is hardly a vote for change. (in my opinion)

  23. what says:

    Obama kicked McSame’s butt!

  24. what says:

The funniest moment is when McSame – Mr Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran – said we needed to “speak softly” in foreign diplomacy.

  25. tarma says:

McCain lost big time. You could tell how mad he was the whole time and could barely keep a veneer of civilization over his anger. I couldn’t believe it when he referred to Obama as “that one,” and he even made a condescending comment to the black audience member who asked a question, saying that he bet the guy had never heard of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Racist much?

When it was all over, McCain wouldn’t even shake Obama’s hand and left the hall, leaving Barack and Michelle Obama to happily interact with the crowd.

McCain keeps showing his true colors, and I’m loving it!

  26. anadrol says:

I’m interested in all you fiscally conservative Republicans opinions on McCain’s economic plan to refinance peoples mortgages for them?

WTF, way to be a Maverick on that one so I guess the fiscally responsible tag can now be officially dropped. I don’t know about a bridge going nowhere but that’s gotta be a hail Mary going nowhere.

And what’s with the aimless old man shuffling around the stage when Obama was speaking. Looked like he need to make a break to the restroom, maybe he should have excused himself.

  27. tarma says:

And what’s with the aimless old man shuffling around the stage when Obama was speaking. Looked like he need to make a break to the restroom, maybe he should have excused himself.

LOL. And when he wasn’t shuffling around or making dismissive gestures, he kept furiously scribbling notes – must have filled up an entire yellow pad.

  28. JayCooltrayne says:

it’s happening again. elections have a natural tendency to divide people as the losing group always feels cheated. i have heard pretty disturbing things from the mccain/palin campaign trail. even if obama wins america will lose because we will be as divided as ever. i thought this was going to be a more civil election but john mccain has proven once again that republicans don’t really care about the welfare of the american people. all they care about at this point is winning. at any cost.
