There are so many Churches around, it's basically government run Communism to keep them all in business. What a money hole Churches are, and I'm talking about the deluded individuals that donate money each week as a tax write-off (out of your wallet it seems) as well as the deluded individuals that donate money as a non-tax write-off (out of their own wallets)!

Even worse though is that Comrad Obama supports "Faith-Based-Initiatives" and wants to raise the initiative to $500 million per year.
Dave...does Ed ask you to post these ridiculous questions? How can someone who claims to be an activist for the myth, only defend the myth in one direction? Oh..wait, it's a one way street...

Well, no worry. The Supreme Court has already ruled on this...

In its 1970 opinion in Walz vs. Tax Commission of the City of New York, the high court stated that a tax exemption for churches "creates only a minimal and remote involvement between church and state and far less than taxation of churches. [An exemption] restricts the fiscal relationship between church and state, and tends to complement and reinforce the desired separation insulating each from the other." The Supreme Court also said that "the power to tax involves the power to destroy." Taxing churches breaks down the healthy separation of church and state and leads to the destruction of the free exercise of religion.

Great idea! I wish I had known about this sooner. I would've made a video or something.

The one and only time I appeared on CNN was in 1997 when I and over 100 other American Atheists picketed the Promise Keepers' Stand in the Gap rally at the National Mall in Washington DC. I got on CNN for about 4 seconds, standing next to Dave Silverman and a few other hardcore AA activists, and we were all yelling "TAX THE CHURCH! TAX THE CHURCH!"

Hey that's not bad for me, since I had been active in the movement for only a year before that. :o)

I'm proud to say that a copy of that CNN report is safely stored in the American Atheist Center video archive. :o)

They spoke of the gospel of Jesus Christ, repentance from racism and sexual sin, the need for stronger churches and the conversion of sinners. And yet, upon closer examination, their words and actions are found to be a mixture of truth and error, deceiving millions of Christians into false and dangerous beliefs and alliances. While television and newspaper cameras showed hundreds of thousands of men on their faces in prayer, a survey of those in attendance confirmed that many of these same men did not understand basic and foundational Bible doctrines and were unable to provide a testimony indicative of a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. How is it that a million men, many of whom do not have a clear testimony of salvation, can redeem a nation by "Standing in the Gap?"
