What never ceases to amaze me is the existence of gay Republicans. Here in Palm Springs we are surrounded by them. I'm sure my next door neighbor must be a gay Republican because he is snotty, elitist, rich, and obviously a friend of Dorothy.

Maybe the thing with gay Republicans is that they value stealing from the poor to give to the rich more than they value their own self respect.

I still do not believe in the existence of poor gay Republicans.

Being a single-issue voter is incredibly irresponsible.

Dave, your friend seems to lack an ability to prioritize : )

He's willing to let his personal freedoms in general be restricted (the Patriot Act for example), as long as the government doesn't come near his gun.

Strange.
Can you give an update on the search for a new President and Editor. Sorry if you already did this and I missed it.

Thanks in advance.

UnGodly,

Let me relate a short story. Myself and my two older brothers were raised in the the most ultraconservative fundamentalist environment imaginable. We all walked away with scars, but, I embraced mine. I learned to be honest in my business dealing, because then people trust you. I learned the color of your skin had nothing to do with the measure of the man. I also learned eventually that religious people are not necessarily bad people, but, they are decieved by request, to give them a false hope for purpose and immortality.
But, my oldest brother, brought up in the same house, is one of the blindest bigots I have ever known, and claims to support the Republican platform, no matter what it becomes. I cannot claim to know every gay or black republican, but I can see through him. He thinks that being replubican makes him part of the rich elite, and he can have it if that's what he needs.
But, if you are openly gay, or black, the republicans will promote you through their party on a hot rail trying to appeal a fringe centrist voting bloc. It's all about spin.
