Obama’s Speech

American Atheists does not endorse political candidates or parties. This post is Dave’s opinion. But that speech was very very good. The Senator spoke several times about education and science, and if I recall only mentioned religion in his closing sentence and the obligatory GBA (can we really fault him for that?)What I DID notice is that he mentioned several issues, including abortion, gay marriage, guns, etc, speaking about finding common ground, but never religion. I guess since that issue has dogged him, he figured there was no place to go with it.Anyway, good speech. I personally feel better about him.

The speech was nothing more then a rehash of past Liberal candidates…

Nothing new…loads of promises but no specifics…

As I stated months ago, many on this board will do mental gymnastics to support someone who CONSTANTLY brings his faith into his speechs…

Have you seen his ad for Kentucky?

    More Important…

Gov. Palin of Alaska is the number 2 pick for the GOP…

A very accomplished lady with an 80% approval rating…

    What a brilliant political move…

Totally takes Obama and his side kick off of the front pages…

I predict…one of the first attacks against her will be the fact that she and her husband took their child with Down Syndrome to term…

Something like…”What kind of a person would allow a child to be born with Down Syndrome. Why he’ll suffer all of his life”…

    How’s that sound Spanders?

I think the speech was excelent. It wasn’t very specific, but the occassion didn’t call for writing a book, it called for an outline of the goals of his presidency.

And I am as thrilled as phreedumb about McBush’s selection for running mate. He, as a seventy year old cancer patient, has selected a first term governor to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. But, I hear she has promised, if elected, not to blow her friend’s face off with a shotgun.

I too enjoyed Barak’s speech. It was exciting to watch history unfold before my eyes. What a mess he will be handed next year. I wouldn’t that job for all the gold at Fort Knox!

Sen. Obama gave nothing to unbelievers, not even a crumb.

Even so, he’s better than McBush.

After Obama’s speech, I saw the end of what turned out to be Nancy Pelosi’s benediction (The last word of the convention was “Amen”), I realized who she reminds me of. Dye her hair blonde and she’s a dead ringer for Joan Rivers.

Did anyone hear about former President Carter being snubbed by the DNC, because he is not a right wing zionist?

    Why isn’t that bigger news?!?

I also thought Obama’s speech was excellent.

Among many memorable lines, the one I like best was, “What the naysayers don’t understand is that this election has never been about me. It’s about you.”
