Actually love can be seen and measured on fMRI scans and is nothing more than pheromones, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Love is easily explained by evolutionary biology and serves our genes very well. This in no way diminishes loves impact or importance. Sorry timmy but just because something feels mystical doesnt mean that science cant explain it in naturalistic terms.
So love is a concept? That’s funny because I have actually been doing it rather than conceiving of it all these years.
That’s odd I think that my family would say that the love we have for each other is physical and tangible – providing all that mystical ephemeral food, shelter, medical care, education. Yep that is just to difficult to grasp.

After much discussion, and dancing all around the center, the simple undeniable truth is that love is a mechanism of nature without which our species would not have survived. Without physical attraction males and females would not mate. Without loneliness, we would all get bored with porking the same partner. Without maternal instinct and affection for our children they would all die before they become biologically mature.
But, putting aside any hidden meaning or mystic significance, the fact is that though we are irresistably driven toward propagating the species, the rewards are a trade off. The love you feel for your mate is exactly equal to the pain you feel when you divorce, or when he or she dies. The love you feel for your children is exactly equal to the pain you feel when you lose custody, or when they defy you, spurn you, or get thrown in prison.
All the pop songs written about love being the answer were written by idiots whose grey matter swings in a wrinkly sac between their legs, and are bought by the like minded people.
