Why?Some Muslim families actually need proof of virginity prior to the wedding of their sons to someone else’s daughter. Gone are the days when you could fool them by spilling some blood on the sheets. Legal?Yes in the United States and in France, the state health care will pay to repair a torn hymen if the woman was raped.The articles above go after the doctors. They are accused of foisting a scam on family members by conducting a medical procedure to fool someone that the patient is a virgin. That is not ethical, but then, we are dealing with religious zealots who take the OT and Quaran way too seriously.I have said it before and I’ll say it again and again, I love my Y chromosome.Please excuse me while I go get my enhancement phalloplasty.Peter Nuhn
