Christians Throw Stones at Each Other

(May 3) – Conservative Christian leaders who believe the word “evangelical” has lost its religious meaning plan to release a starkly self-critical document saying the movement has become too political and has diminished the Gospel through its approach to the culture wars. The statement, called “An Evangelical Manifesto,” condemns Christians on the right and left for “using faith” to express political views without regard to the truth of the Bible, according to a draft of the document obtained Friday by The Associated Press.”That way faith loses its independence, Christians become `useful idiots’ for one political party or another, and the Christian faith becomes an ideology,” according to the draft.

Well… I don’t think I can disagree with that. Christianity today is far from what it was even 20 years ago, and the backlash against recent changes has brought many converts to the movement. Will this document do anything? Absolutely not. Words hold no weight compared to money and power. The Christians will continue to give up their morality in a desperate attempt to retain/regain power, and we will continue to reap the benefits as we watch an ancient mythology crumble before our eyes.

Also, what’s your beef with Seeker? Seems he’s an atheist who defends religious people. What’s wrong with that?

Simple…he’s a fraud. Pretending to be someone he isn’t.

He and Augustine are birds of a feather…

of course i know serious issues are affecting the nation but it is foolish to think any of the candidates can save the nation.

The state of the union has been better in the past. It is not unreasonable to think it can be better in the future.

Blaming the candidates alone is juvenile. You are a member of this society with a voice. Use it or be prepared to accept a lot of the blame yourself.

What am I pretending to be?

Have you seen my web site?

  4. avatar Augustine says:

I’m accused of pretending to be someone I’m not by someone I have never met?

I’m not sure who I plan to vote for, but it will not be Mccain. And Hilary’s service to the nation (think of the importance of stud farms) is complete nonsense. Does anyone know any good third party canidates? Its between them and Obama.

Wasn’t Jesus-Ernesto the one that was advocating for a Mexican take-over of California a few weeks back? If not I owe him an apology for my earlier comments.

    He has no experience.

As I have pointed out before, Obama has as much experience as did Lincoln.

    Ernesto…

Don’t waste your time with “What” or “tom”…

    Neither can debate facts…

…says the mental midget who runs away like a bedwetting coward anytime someone asksk him to back up his religious insanity with factual information.

Any time you want to try and present some facts, so that we can debate them, just let me know, you religious phreak. I seem to recall that you still haven’t proven any of your wild ass pagan bullshit, and have run away from the discussion each and every time someone has asked you to back up your bullshit. No need to read between those lines, phreakshow…

And I would add that the only reason anyone wastes any time dealing with phreakishly idiotic kimchee here is to point out how phreaking stupid it is. No one listens to any of his ‘advice’ here that I’ve seen. Over two years of spewing his religious idiocy here, and refusing to accept that his religious insanity is not welcome in this forum, and he still thinks that he has the right to demand that others dance to his tune.

Only one who wishes to rewrite history would claim we have had an economic disaster for the last 7 years…

Hmmmm… Warren Buffet, the world’s richest man, says there’s a recession on. And that the Putsch sadministration is responsible for the economic disaster we’re currently going through…

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24353109/

and even he admits that it’s not an economic disaster to the richest 1% (Putsch’s base) – just for everyone else. Maybe that’s why Bubble Boy thinks everything is hunky-dory these days. And why phreakshow can take WPE’s dick out of his mouth long enough to catapult that piece of Republican’t propaganda.

Now – who would you believe? A religiously insane theofascist who supports the Worst President Ever? Or the world’s richest man, who has been right about this sort of thing since before phreakshow was brainwashed by his superstitious cult? What a tough one to figure out…

You owe Jesus-Ernesto and apology then. The guy you’re talking about was Horus, he was claiming that we’re all a bunch of communists.

  9. avatar alatham says:

My apologies, I got my names mixed up as well.

Horus was the possible atheist who was sad to see Mitt Romney leave the race and who claimed to be a member of that group that was “attacking” Scientology.

Salvador was the raving nutcase Mexican-takeover guy who claimed all atheists are communists.

    Lincoln shouldn’t have been elected.

    What,

No apology will be accepted until you also apologize to Seeker and all the others you continuously flame.

I, for one, appreciate the free flow of thoughts and opinions, particularly those different from mind. Jackasses like you add nothing to the discussion but only serve to discourage free thought.

It was my mistake and I offered you my sincere apology. You either accept it graciously or you don’t. You will not be dictating terms of a broader and undeserved apology.

  13. avatar Jesus-Ernesto says:

    I doubt your sincerity.

You owe others — all others — apolgoies for your boorish behavior.

  14. avatar what says:

    Jesus_Ernesto

So are you accepting my apology or not?

  15. avatar septos says:

    Jesus,Ernesto,just take the damn apology.

    (Sorry,couldn’t resist.)

    Seeker

Wishful thinking won’t displace what nature hath bestowed. Either God created the human mind with the ability to conceive evolution or evolution produced a mind that self-soothes itself with the imagery of the supernatural.

That’s one heap of a lot of projecting your doing there. You were duped for fifty years and so you think the rest of the world is as gullible.
