Christians have been targeted for so long, which is the ONLY reason that our jails are filled with so many of them. I know that your God will forgive them, but it’s still not fair that there are so many christians in jail. Forgiveness is one of the keys to christianity, so I think we should just forgive all the christians in jail and let them out. We are not to judge here on this earth anyway. That’s your god’s job.

I suspect the Catholic Church’s world-wide contributions dwarfs that of the televangelists’ millions. Add real estate holdings, health care enterprises, an army of clergy (employees) whose poverty vows provide a minimal payroll, a church “bank,” postal service (they sell stamps), stocks, etc. I suspect they’re well into the black.
One report says the Catholic Church (et al) “spent” $615 million on clergy abuse ($526m for settlements.) in 2007. That’s a drop in the Holy Father’s bucket. My guess is faithful parishioners upped their donations to more than cover the expense.
From THE VATICAN BILLIONS by Avro Manhattan: “The Vatican has large investments with the Rothschilds of Britain, France and America, with the Hambros Bank, with the Credit Suisse in London and Zurich. I think my trip through the Vatican Museum and St Peter’s in 2001 is what put me over the top when it comes to Catholicism, the religion that I was raised in. They spout helping others, taking care of the poor and less fortunate and other bullshit while sitting on BILLION$ worth of art.
Imagine, if you will, if the RCCorp took their billion$ and actually helped the poor with it. Instead, they have spent the past couple of hundred years building cathedrals and ornate churches. I’m sure that’s what Jesus had in mind.
The worst sign of absolute greed of the catholic church is the ban on allowing priests to marry. This has absolutely no scriptural precedent and instead was implemented to ensure that all of the worldly possessions of a priest went to the church upon his death rather than to a wife and kids. Now that is some motherfucking world class greed.
