This is McWalnut’s Spiritual Advisor?

I cannot tell you how important it is that we understand the true nature of Islam, that we see it for what it really is. In fact, I will tell you this: I do not believe our country can truly fulfill its divine purpose until we understand our historical conflict with Islam. I know that this statement sounds extreme, but I do not shrink from its implications. The fact is that America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion destroyed, and I believe September 11, 2001, was a generational call to arms that we can no longer ignore. Rod Parsley

Hey, we got a divine purpose. Who knew? And it is to kill towel heads. Shit, I grew up being told our divine purpose was to kill communist gooks (racially derogatory terms used for demonstration purposes of the oppositions position). Man oh man, this divine business is really violent, ain’t it? Also very very very racially discriminatory. Come to think of it, it is also the divine purpose of America to destroy secularists as well. Can someone tell me if there is anyone out there that America’s divine purpose is not to kill? Too bad our divine purpose does not include love, peace, or respect for the diversity of the American public.Peter Nuhn

The divine purpose of most televangelists is to make money. That is the motive behind Parsley’s message.

The absence of the belief in a divine purpose doesn’t guarantee a nation will be Utopian. Consider the USSR, eg.

Does the USA have a mission statement?

There might not be a divine American mission to destroy islam but don’t buy the pc bullshit that states islam is a religion of peace either. The West and our very way of life is very much at war with islam.

If I were interested in finding out what Islam “really is,” Rod Parsley would probably be the LAST person I’d turn to.

I think the desire to kill foreigners comes first, and then the Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy is added later as justification of the sacred genocide. After all, killing foreigners is an expression of patriotism and religious fervor, making it the most pious activity possible.

This is why you’ll always find a rag on a stick in a church.

So the Jesus-worshipping “prince of peace” crazies are after the Mohammed-worshipping “religion of peace” crazies? I hope that in fifty years the worlds secular enough to read the history of religious conflint and laugh over the absurdity of it all. Then again, thats as likely as the pope giving Judy Garland back the ruby slippers…

The only difference between Islam and Xianity, as far as I can tell, is that Jeebus rose to heaven by his own means and Mo rode to heaven on a flying horse.

Don’t forget George W. McClone. I see someone at a Republican event held up a sign saying “McSame”. They all work for me. Maybe Dave can run a favorites contest of some sort. The winner gets to have a United States where the above named moron is NOT President. (Of course, that makes us all winners…)

OH come on. Must all atheists and free thinkers be left wing loonies too. McNut?/ Pah-leeze. The very first thing liberals do (and I ain’t one) is meke it personal. Attack his positions, his record (Crom knows I cant stand 50% of what he is supposed to stand for). But I was hoping for a bit more erudite and factual discussion here.
At least we are not faced with Huckabee. AHHHHHHH!!
