If they do meet, they will all kill eachother, most likely. They will bicker and go to blows over who speaks first, whose name to call their imaginary friend, what to wear, are women anything mote than baby machines, etc. Has the makings of a great SNL sketch, though.

When the Pope was in Turkey, I remember a shocking news video containing a statement by a Vatican spokesman. I don’t have a link to the video (I’m writing this from memory) but the messaqe was clear. The guy said something to the effect that the church’s position was that the basic conflict in the world was not a clash of civilizations but the clash between belief and unbelief and that the Vatican would hope to have Islam as an ally. I probably have not recalled the statement exactly but I’m pretty sure I’ve got the essentials right. I could hardly believe what I was hearing.

BTW, I came over here to see if this organization has issued a press release about the 11 year old girl in Weston Wis who died because her parents just prayed instead of seeking medical help.

The only message he could possibly have said that would please this community anyway would be something like: “We have decided to just give up religion here in the middle east…fuck that god bullshit.” Like that is going to happen.

Of course they view atheism as a threat. It is.

I read in horror that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia had invited leaders of the Abrahamic Faiths to meet with him regarding “the disintegration of the family and the rise of atheism in the world ? a frightening phenomenon that all religions must confront and vanquish.” What was even more horrifying was YOUR positive response!

The message was cloaked in tolerance for Jews and Christians, but this isn?t about peace ? it?s about a new war against a new common ?enemy?: Atheists.

But we are not your enemy! Sure, we disagree on the existence of deities, but we?re just talking (like you are). Yet this ?wonderful statesman? wants us vanquished, with your help.

According to the Pew Research Council, Secular people (atheists) make up about 10.4% of the US Population or about 32 Million people (twice the number of all non-Christians combined). That?s a lot of vanquishing!

All humans have something in common. We live in a world where bigotry and intolerance has devastated or destroyed whole groups of people because of thought or lineage. King Abdullah is clearly trying to organize another such effort, and like always, it?s all under the guise of ?peace.? Hitler did that too.

American Atheists urges the religious leaders and parishioners to take a step back and ask yourself: ?What if King Abdullah had asked for a meeting to talk about vanquishing US instead of the Atheists??

If his Highness is really interested in peace, then all groups ? monotheistic, polytheistic, and non-theistic, should be welcomed at his table. Where there is exclusion, there can never be peace.

Frankly, you should all know that by now.

Were Abdullah’s words, as given in your post, a translation of words written/spoken in arabic or were they written/spoken by Abdullah in english?
