I hope this will emphasize the difference between “Freedom of religion includes the right to not worship” and “I am the lord thy god you must worship me”. I E-mailed my Reps in hope they would notice.

Well, I sent off e-mails to my Republican senators, John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison. I have little hope that they will even read them – but, if they get enough messages, perhaps these folks will get a clue that not everyone is happy with this type of ridiculous legislation. Pretty clueless bunch, though.

Okay, turn about is fair play. If we have a "Ten Commandments Weekend" then we ought to have a "Recognition of Atheists Weekend".

We all need to bombard our elected represenatives by email, but we need to go further and make a telephone call. Calls count for more than emails. It's no big deal. Make the call and when one of the staff answers all you have to do is say something like this:

"I'm a constitutent of So&So and I want him/her to know that Senate Resolution 483 offends those of us who believe in the wall of separation between government and religion. I strongly oppose any endorsement or vote for a resolution which endorses a "Ten Commandments Weekend."

Then say thanks and hang up.
