I am newly registered here, but check on updates all the time.

I would love to attend the convention, but it is too far away and I am recovering from recent surgery.

However, if the next convention is in the west somewhere my godless partner and I will be there!!

FYI, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (the wonderful Dan Barker et al) is in October. I will miss that also, but did attend the one in SF Oct 2006 and it was FABULOUS.

For the first time since I have been a member of AA, the convention is within reach. It is about a seven hour drive assuming the weather cooperates.

Unfortunatly, my wife will be arriving home on the day the convention begins, and will only be home for ten days. I would love to attend, but I want to see my wife and daughter more.

I hope all goes well, and I will be with you all in my heart. I hope it is the best convention ever! Good luck and have fun, to all those attending.

QF,

What do you mean in spirit? I thought you did not believe in that. You are becoming more Christian every day.
There is no such thing as a spirit, if you are truly an atheist. Only spirit you guys believe in is probably the spirit of Jose Cuervo.

cowboyjeans,

Are you trying to suggest that atheists are alcoholics?

It's true, atheists probably don't believe in the supernatural concept of a spirit (though there's nothing saying they can't). But spirit has more than one definition.
