Let’s see. Lies, oppression of women, greed, sexual predation, fear-mongering, and, of course, it’s all about power. Nice bunch of folks, absolutely.

Oh, I guess I need to explain to you: that’s sarcasm.

Try being a kid w/ a 150+ IQ and getting through your formative years w/ the image in your head that your parents are a pair of self-serving tools, whom you cannot trust.

Hatred is not the emotion to ascribe to my motives. If you look at all the instances listed and who the activists are listed by the Catholic League you will see that the religion is involved in a lot more than worshiping Jesus. No one should have any problem with you accepting the truth of Jesus. We do have lots of problems when the religious organizations want to start forcing us to worship idols and gods not of our making. The Catholics who want to put up a creche in on their property is great and their right. But trying to get it put up on publicly owned land that I have to pay taxes to maintain is against the establishment clause of the First Amendment and an act of tyranny against me.

You get to worship who you want without being forced into it. I, unfortunately, do not get the same freedom because I am in the minority and those religious leaders of the religious organizations believe that I should simply look the other way when the majority posts the decalogue or bible verses in my face.

All we are saying is give peace a chance. I know you want to imagine a religious world. I want to imagine a reality rational based world with no religion. It isn’t fair you get your wish and I don’t and then claim we live in a free nation. I don’t live in a free nation, I live in a Christian nation filled with Christians who hate GLBTs, strong free women, and everyone who refutes and dares to doubt their irrational dictates.

I don’t follow what you say and I don’t follow what Donohue or the pope or the pastor, rabbi, iman, etc. of any religious organization tells me I should follow. I decide entirely on my own what my principles and beliefs will be and the state has no business interfering with my right to do so.

Thanks for the response, That is the best response from an atheist I have ever heard, and I do have some atheist friends. But just for the record I don’t hate strong free woman or people that dispute what I believe. Although I agree that there are people that calls themselves a Christian and preaches hate. What I would say to them is study the teaches of Jesus before you start preaching hate because we are taught not to hate but to pray for our enemies. And no Peter, I do not consider you an enemy. I’m just saying that there are good and bad people that claim to be a Christian just like there are good and bad atheists.
