Regardless, pedophilia and child por**graphy are horrid abuses against innocent children, and to hide these crimes behind religious clap-trap (e.g. “If you tell anyone about this, little boy, Jesus will send you to Hell”) is unforgivable.

I am no psychologist but it doesn’t take a professional to realize this type of suppression of the driving instinct of our species (SEX) would have dire consequences on the human psyche.

Celibacy requirements should be entirely lifted and women should be allowed to serve in any position.

There was an author interviewed on about a story he wrote about a teenage boy’s feelings of guilt because he masturbates and thinks he will go to hell. I think this outlook and attitude towards sex damages people beyond repair.

As we all know xians have an extremely high divorce rate and I think this too is tied into unhealthy sexual attitudes.

In the more fundamentalist families, as a female, it would be horrible to be told your whole life you are to behave in a submissive fashion to the man you marry. This would lead to a lack of communication about her sexual desires, because, of course, she is made to feel she should not have any or that hers do not matter.

IMO, sex is the cornerstone of a healthy relationship and reflects the happiness level of the partners. If you aren’t having a lot of sex or it isn’t very good then you have failed both yourself and your spouse.

Just one of the many problems of religion.

It seems like there is a relatively high percentage of preachers who are pedophiles

The high percentage makes me wonder if they are actually pedophiles or if they are so sexually repressed they just seek out the very young because they feel they will not be “found out”.

For example a married preacher may feel extreme sexual urges but feels he cannot “act them out” with his spouse, instead of cheating on her with an adult, because he fears he will be discovered, he instead chooses children, whose allegations, if they ever come out at all can be more easily discredited.

They feel so ashamed about being gay they either choose celibacy or get married to a female but, of course, they never feel sexually satisfied. Instead of being open and honest and “coming out” and being who they really are they prey on little boys to hide the truth from their church and families.
