Many preachers and politicians have joined together in a new movement: to distort and rewrite history to favor their own agendas. On the airwaves they routinely condemn atheists and claim Adolph Hitler was a follower of their unholy views. True historical fact neither favors or spares allegiance to any cause, politics, or religion. The belief that America was founded as a Christian nation is the vital animating element of the ideology of the Christian Right. As one of the most successful and powerful political movements in American history, it currently affects every aspect of life and culture. The notion that America’s alleged Christian identity has by some means been wrongly taken, and must somehow be restored, shapes the psychology and vision of the entire movement. No understanding of Christian Fundamentalism and Christian Revisionism is remotely sufficient without this foundational concept. The need for Christian Revisionists to distance themselves from the reflections of an ignoble past is best exemplified by their aversion to recognizing the fundamentalism of Hitler, Nazism, and the third Reich. While displaying an ideological hatred for homosexuality, atheism, and pluralism, and while advocating militarism and unquestioning nationalism, the resemblance between these two fundamentalist ideologies has created a movement rooted in denial. The similarities of these two distinct movements account for their obsessive need to replace the history of fact with a more appealing image. Trampling over the bitter saga of Hitler?s blight on humanity and obscuring the vision of this horrific past is an error of grave proportions. And for this reason only, affirmations of fact about Hitler?s religious observance is presented herein. Heartfelt objections to historical fact must not become the impetus for compromising these significant truths.

debbie
this is not a personal attack but nondenom churchs are a blight on the land with their false teaching.
Debbie,
That’s what they all say. It almost always turns out that they obviously have motivations that they are unwilling to reveal. Does the jesus in your brain prefer that you not reveal it as a motivation explicitly?
it has nothing to do with motivations. alot of denominations have man made rules such as: women should not wear pants, earrings, etc. the non denominational church follows the bible but does not get caught up in the “religous” rules tha many denominations carry. ie hail marys, in catholic church or the such.As far as other religions, the biggest difference b/w my faith and others is that xians believe in Jesus. No other religion has their God come in human form to be able to experience life as a human. He is the only God who came to give his life for us. Because of his love.Thats the difference. There is proof that Jesus did walk the face of this earth. more than just the Bible.
debbie debbie debbie,
You made a claim that you like to have relationships with different people who believe different things and you named buddhists specifically.
Now you make a claim that your religion is the only one which claim their god idea has human form?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalai_Lama
It’s obvious you have never spoken to a single Buddhist about their beliefs.
Additionally many ancient religions believed their gods occupied the bodies of their earthly rulers.
So are you claiming any religion which says their deity idea has occupied an earthly form is true?
Don’t make factual claims without the knowledge to back it up.
Wow, another factual claim. So let’s have the evidence.
There are probably 50,000 people named jesus in mexico right now. With birth certificates and everything.
I wonder how many people named jesus lived in biblical times???
Another interesting piece of information regarding jesus for you debbie:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_2
From wiki another religion who believes their gods occupied human bodies:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jains
Not one deity in human form but 24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So debbie is jainism the one true religion because their deities walked the face of the earth in human form?
That’s how silly you claiming that because your religion has a deity that appeared in human form it makes it true appears to us. That and your assertion shows you have never even looked at a different religion besides xianity.
Debbieeeee,
karen asked this:
Debbie, you responded:
Which could be your motivation, however, I do not believe you. One reason I don’t believe you is because most if not all christians hide their real motivations. Honest dialog is not possible without honesty on your part Debbie.
So I asked this way:
To which you Debbie responded:
And that my dumb little Debbie has nothing to do with simple curiosity and nothing else. You Debbie are a liar, and will burn in your hell idea at the hand of your christian god idea. Your motivation Debbie is to blow jesus out your nose onto this blog. Now I will admit to expressing with some artistic license but, do you really think your purpose is not obvious?
To add to rna2dna’s astute observations about debbie’s self-proclaimed atheist curiosity it must be noted debbie has yet to ask US any questions. And questions are how curiosity manifests itself.
Debbie only talks about herself and why she is right in her unquestionable god truth.
There isn’t a single question mark in any of her posts.
So why did you lie to us debbie?
Why ask questions when you are already giving all the answers. I don’t have to ask questions because you have answered them for me. It amazes me that discussing different religions with people, we usually have calm, respectful dialogue. Only with athiest do I get mean spirited arrogance. You always say that you want proof but show me the proof that God doesn’t exhist. Athiests are just angry, sad little people that don’t want to be held accountable for their actions so they say there is no God. Whether you believe it or not does not make it not so. You may not believe in Jesus but one day you will stand before his judgement seat and then it will be too late. I pray for each and every one of you to come to Christ. You can comment on what I said if you want but I will not be back to this site. Just one more thing, I never lied to you, I was just curious but no matter how much I care about your salvation it is obvious that you have turned yourself off to the truth. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. Once again I will pray for you guys.
Ah, another theist shows their true colors. When they are incapable of maintaing a debate they descend into casting aspersions and invoking their god myth to condemn the nasty atheists to enternal torture and hell fire.
debbie,
You have lost your mind. You come here spewing falsehoods and screaming “one true god” BS and then call us rude and arrogant when we call you on it.
Whatever, go pray to your imaginary friend and ask him for some sense and to help you stop habitually lying.
What a monster you worship.
I love this too:
As if coming to an atheist blog to tell people how right you are and how wrong they are is respectful.
You live in a bubble where only you and your opinions matter regardless of the truth.
Respect is something that is earned. Don’t come into a person’s house take a dump on their living room floor then demand respect.
This is so dumb. Yeah, we are all cannibalistic serial killers because we have no deity idea to tell us what to do and who to hate.
Debbie,
I am sorry I missed you. If you come back I will know there is a god who”gave his only begotten son”. Then you could explain to me where his son went after he died.
Ms. Debbie. There are some things I’d like you to think about should you return to this blog and read my post.
Because I have the ability to understand, Ms. Debbie, and I feel that a failure to attempt to use this ability is a crime against everyone I’ve ever known who I could help had I only tried.
We merely answered the questions we knew you wished to ask, and feel no shame for answering honestly.
That is indeed how you would be treated if you gave us reason to trust your motives.
A blatant falsehood, Ms. Debbie. Atheists are no different from any other group of human beings. I’m sure that if you had bothered to think about your statement, you would recognize the inherent logical fallacy.
The singularly most important difference between yourself and I is that while you ask for evidence, where I to produce any, you would not change your beliefs.
Ms. Debbie, would you kindly hop over to the ?Atheist Billboard? thread? Search for my comment with time-stamp .
A very enlightened statement, Ms. Debbie.
I believe my comment on the ?Atheist Billboard? thread addresses this statement. Do please read it.
You can do better than pray, Ms. Debbie. You can reason with us.
Few ever do.
You?re talking out of both sides of your mouth, Ms. Debbie.
By the christian method, only the selfish enter into the kingdom of God. Not that that bothers me. It would seem I shall have far better company in Hell.
The comment on the ‘Atheist Billboard’ I would like you to read is time-stamped:

Comment from Debbie:
Uhhhhh…. Wait a minute. For me, one of the most important realizations I had in becoming an atheist is that I AM RESPONSIBLE for my own actions. What I do is not a result of some big plan of an invisible man in the sky. When a firefighter risks their life to save someone from a burning building, they are responsible for the “miracle”, not Jebus.
who is this debbie person, and where is Ren. who are you Debbie,to say that atheist’s are sad angry people? Christains are suppose to be forgiven and yet they still don’t love their neighbors when they find out they are not like them. Pasters children are usually the most rowdyiest and what is the deal with telling a 6th grader that dinosaurs don’t exsist(this was told to me when I went to a private christian school). I was taught and I teach my children to take responsibility for your actions. This should be for all children regardless of believeing in Gott or not. Doing the right thing is what everyone should do, not just because Gott said so. That is commen sense. Have you Debbie, taken the time to understand the Athiest point of view? Because I bet most Athiests know more about your religion then you do. They can quote the bible (whichever version you use) most likely better then you and not the usual John 3:16 that everyone knows.
