Clouds are normally a symbol that the religious use for god's existance though. I would go with something taken from the hubble telescope or from the mars landers.

quantum,

I think if it was a picture of outer space with:

"You are not alone."

People would think it meant aliens
Fantastic. A lot of atheists complain that they are surrounded by people who are openly hostile to their beliefs. This shows them that people are out there. It's a simple and easy message.

By the way, the bible never predicted that man would ever land on the moon or live on mars. The bible doesn't have anything to say about extraterrestial intelligences or rocket ships. The bible doesn't have anything good to say about man's technological achievements at all (tower of babel). This is why I can't believe the assholes who keep on trying to say that the bible represents a superior knowledge from above. F$cking pessimistic assholes who believe that stuff and then tell kids to believe that stuff as well!

Don't they realize there is a world beyond the highest skies of the earth? Why do they feel that it is okay to ignore the rest of the universe and dub what they call "god's green earth" as being the end all of humanity's existance. Don't they realize the vast wealth to be had beyond our feeble planet? Don't they realize the vast history of evolution and cosmology that is our true lineage in the universe?

Don't they realize that their restrictive religion castrates the imaginative individuals of there will to invent and prosper in the world?

I say "nay". Also, the ironic thing is that it was the imaginative individuals in society who came up with religions in order to explain what they do not understand.

Every one of those religious followers is an ignorant asshole for believing in the heaven and hell, angels and demons, gods and devils, saints and sinners, etc. that people with active imaginations combined with unscientific superstition concocted. It is the evilist jerks there are who take the imaginations of the masses and force them to strictly believe the imaginative thoughts of times past, even in the face of modernly enlightened evidence to the contrary.

Every one of those religious followers is an ignorant asshole for believing in the heaven and hell, angels and demons, gods and devils, saints and sinners, etc.
By including ?sinners? in all that, are you saying that atheists don?t believe that they or anyone else has ever done anything wrong?
Well, in any case, it's good to be advertising atheism!

I think that belief in aliens is a more enlightened scientific viewpoint than belief in god is. Was thinking about X-Files when I wrote my response to that billboard. I suppose it is a good piece of artwork, nonetheless.

I like this sign very much. Simple, tasteful, to the point. I think the clouds are fine. It is a common Christian association with heaven, but that will just draw people in to the sign. They may see the "Don't believe in god" part, and be expecting some bible verse or church name to be advertised. Then they get the simple kicker of "You are not alone." Hey wait! That wasn't expected!

It's not offensive to believers, but it's comforting to nonbelievers. Finally, simple recognition that we are out here too.

Can't wait for more. I hope one comes to NC. Although, I'd urge security detail on it here. Chances are, it'd be vandalized sooner rather than later.
