Isn't it funny how xians want to have their cake and eat it too? They want only xian displays at this time of year and they totally lose it when a differing opionio wants to also be heard.

On the same topic, I noticed today that someone had placed a large "Happy Chanka" (sic) sign alongside I-40 here in Chapel Hill so I called the town hall and left them a message (it was after hours). My complaint was that the sign violated the zoning and sign ordinance. I can't wait to hear what they say tomorrow about it.
Ok, the second link is great but the first one is broken. It takes me to some page that says "page not found" yada, yada, yada, this doesn't work xyz, click here. Took me to some search engine for the paper. Is the link too old or do I need to pay $ for it?

I just thought of a way to turn an x-mas tree into a Solstice Tree

....put one of those black-light solar system mobiles dangling above the top of the tree, use ornaments that depict solar and extra-solar planets, get a series of lights that look like stars and galaxies. I'm sure you could find this stuff at Spencers or online somewhere. The Solstice Tree is really cool because it's shaped like a cone!

One can use TinyURL.com to get short URLs to post instead of long URLs that wrap and no longer work.

But of course the important issue here is the sign and the reactions from people afflicted with religious delusions. Some persons reported being upset that the display implicated THEIR religion. Yet it does not mention any specific religion, and nobody thinks that the dominant religion in Connecticut was the one that motivated the 9/11 attacks.

I think the display makes a perfectly valid point, the criminals responsible for 9/11 were motivated by their religious delusions and the hatred validated by those delusions.

As far as the folks protesting about the display are concerned, me thinks the faithful doth protest too much.

from the WorldNutDaily page:

? 2007 WorldNetDaily.com
Connecticut atheists, taking advantage of a town's policy of allowing holiday-season displays in its public park, have erected a 10-foot tall sign in celebration of the winter solstice that includes a message blaming the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, on religious believers.

Now the nuts think "religious believers" were not responsible for the attacks that day? Huh?

Didn't Pat Robertson say that his Gawd was responsible and it was retribution for homosexuality?
